♡George pov♡
"What the fuck is wrong with you!?" Clay yelled at one of the officers.
I flinched and shut my eyes, pushing myself further into the corner.
"He's bleeding. Why didn't you let him get help?" Karl asked.
I'm bleeding?
I put my hand against my head and opened my eyes. I brought my hand down and saw blood.
Oh.
"He's not wearing proper clothes either. Why would you let him walk around like that?" Clay asked angrily.
He took off his sweatshirt, and he slowly walked over to me. I stared up at him, cowering into the corner. He squatted down next to me. His eyes stared into mine, and I saw his start to water.
"George." He mumbled.
I barely even remembered my name when I was with Tony. I don't deserve the right to my name.
The tears slid down Clay's face.
"Are you even in there?" He asked.
What does that mean? Like, how I acted before? I was so privileged, and I was living a life I didn't deserve.
He hesitantly grabbed my hands. I let him.
I don't care what anyone does to me anymore. I'm defenseless anyway. Why does it matter?
I let my legs rest on the floor, and he carefully pulled the flannel jacket off my body.
I knew it. I knew he was going to. Maybe he'll show me that he loves me.
My arm was being taken out of the sleeve when a sharp pain shot through my ribs. I cried out in pain and flinched away from his touch.
"Clay, it's his ribs. Be careful of how you bend his arms." Karl spoke up.
The officers looked fed up and annoyed. Karl came over and helped Clay get my arms out. They put the sweatshirt over my body. I cuddled up in it. I then noticed Clay's arms. There were bandages all over them.
He's been hurting himself.
I felt my first emotion since last week. I was sad. He saw me looking at his arms and seemed guilty.
"I'm sorry, George. It was hard without you, and I couldn't help it." He mumbled.
I wanted to hug him and tell him I forgive him. But I didn't. I couldn't.
Instead, I just stared at him, hoping he could see the emotion. I'm hoping he can see that I care. He gave me a sad smile. He carefully grabbed my hand.
"I'm happy you're back, George." He said softly.
He hesitantly kissed the back of my hand. It was a gentle kiss. I barely felt it.
"Let's get you to the hospital." He stated.
He stood and expected me to do the same. I didn't. I can't.
"Do you need help?" He asked.
Yes.
I looked up at him. He nodded and scooped me up in his arms. I kept my hands on my chest. My head was leaning on his chest, and I could hear his heartbeat. It was oddly soothing, and I felt myself start growing tired. I shut my eyes, nuzzling my face into his chest. He began carrying me out of the room.
"You're okay now, George. I got you." He said softly.
The way he speaks to me is so gentle and soothing. Everything about him is. Is this why I loved him so much? Tony wouldn't ever talk to me this way.
