ONE WEEK LATER****

It was me, Peyton, Matt, Chris, and Nick in the van on our way to school. This was becoming more of a regular thing.

"Matt, can we stop at Dunkin' " Peyton smiles hopefully.

"You paying?" He raises an eyebrow.

She sighs playfully and rolls her eyes. "I'm not old enough for a job yet. You are"

"I'm kidding. We have a little time. Think about what you want, I'm not sitting in the drive thru for ten minutes while you decide" he starts driving towards Dunkin'.

"Matt you don't have to stop" I say smacking Peyton's hands away who was trying to cover my mouth.

"It's fine. I promise. You want something?" He looks at me through the mirror.

"No I'm fine"

"Anyone else want something?"

"Yeah" Chris and Nick say in unison.

"Figure it out and order at the window then. Are you sure you good Vivi?"

"I'm fine" I say, not wanting to use his money.

We pull into the drive thru and everyone takes turns ordering.

"Hi welcome to Dunkin'! What can I get you?"

"Hi! Can I please have a medium strawberry refresher and a chocolate donut please" Nick orders first.

"Of course will that be all?" The drive thru lady asks?

"Uhh no, not yet. Chris order!"

"Hi can I please get a Pepsi and a chocolate donut" he leans over Matt so the lady can hear him.

"And can I please get a small vanilla iced coffee please" Peyton leans over Nick.

"And can I get a medium black coffee, medium caramel iced coffee, and two glazed donuts" Matt says into the speaker.

"Will that be all?"

"Uhh yeah"

"Okay, that will be 30.61. Pull up to the next window"

"Alright thank you" Nick says as Matt pulls forward.

"Here you go" the lady hands Matt the food through the window while he gives it out.

"Viv, get off your phone. Here" he hands me a coffee and a donut.

"Matt! You didn't have to get me anything" I smile, putting my straw in the cup.

"Well I did" he turns back around to drive away.

"Thank you"

"Welcome"

I look to my left to see Peyton and Nick whispering to eachother, giggling.

"It's so funny that they both don't realize how in love they are" Peyton whispers.

"Right! Like come on now, they're so oblivious"

I pretend not to hear them. It's this every single day. Them two gossiping about me and Matt right next to us, loudly I might add, Chris watching TikTok on full volume, making it a bit hard to hear what they're saying, and Matt and I exchanging looks about their conversation.

We eventually make it to Peyton's school. She climbs over me and jumps out of the car.

"Bye!" She waves to us as Matt drives away.

"Nick, you do realize everyone in this car can hear your conversations, correct?"

"Good. Maybe you can finally start doing some self reflecting and realize your in love"

Matt rolled his eyes but still gave me a slight smirk through the mirror. I reciprocated it quickly and then turned to Nick.

"Nick stop. You're such a weirdo"

We arrive at school and park the car. We walk inside, not having time to wait due to our last minute Dunkin' trip.

Me and the girl who sat next to Matt had switched seats that this point so I sat next to him every day.

"Nick is so weird. Love. What was he on about?" I bring up awkward, trying to hide the fact that I didn't think it was weird at all. I wouldn't say I'm in love with Matt, but over the past few months, I've grown very fondly of him.

"Yeah, right? So weird" Matt replied in the same awkward tone. A short silence fell over us for a moment until I found something else to talk about. That's the nice thing about our relationship. It used to consist of a lot of awkward silences, but since I've gotten comfortable with him, I've been a nonstop yapper. And he listens to everything I say, even if it's just so random thought that pops into my head.

Homeroom was over before I knew it and now it was time to learn. God I hate school. Today was kind of a boring day, no big conversation happened, didn't learn anything new, nothing important happened.

I got home and did my usual routine. Homework, snack, and Gilmore girls until my dad got home.

"Hey honey, how was school" he greeted me in the living room.

"Boring as usual. How was work?"

"Same as you. Lasagna for dinner" he heads over to the kitchen.

"Ahh yes!"

I continue my show while Peyton lays on the other side of the couch. When dinner was done, we all sat at the table and enjoyed. I miss this. I'm so happy she's back.

We made some meaningless banter at the dinner table. Today was what I like to call a 'filler day'. Nothing significant. I liked these types of days. Little stress, just some time to breathe.

I went to my room after thanking my dad for dinner. I scrolled on TikTok for a while with a random channel on in the background. I did this for a few hours until I was ready to sleep.

As I was preparing myself for bed, I hear a knock. I check my door to see who it was. What? Nobody was there. I hear it again and realize it came from my window. I got scared and grabbed a curling iron to use as a weapon if needed. I peaked through a little opening in my curtain to see who it was.

Matt.
