"I need to tell you something, Kay. I have to tell you now." Isaac said, looking serious and adjusting his sitting position far from me.

"Um... okay. What is it?" I asked, shielding my voice from expressing its true concern. I stared at Isaac blankly, eagerly awaiting a grand gesture to confess his feelings for me. Yes, I was that delusional. My feelings for him felt more justified this time because of Peter's sudden behavior. I need to show Peter that he's not the only one that can get mad. He yelled at me so aggressively and treated Isaac like dirt. Now, to me, he's just a spoilt brat who can't control his emotions after seeing another guy get cozy with his girlfriend.

A few months ago, I thought I had the perfect life, friends, and most importantly, the perfect boyfriend. Peter was my whole world and my best friends had my back through hook and crook. But now, I've lost Sarah and Morowa thinks I'm a bitch. Isaac came into my life and took away every ounce of peace. I fell for him, hard. Now, I'm stuck in a stupid love triangle and my unbelievable heart sways towards Isaac even more.

Isaac cleared his throat awkwardly before finally speaking, snapping me back to reality. "Sienna and I are not together. So- she's blackmailing me." He said, stuttering almost as if he was hesitating to tell me. He took a deep breath and swallowed hard when he noticed I did not utter a word. "Your friend, Sarah. She has this v-"

He was cut short by my loud ringtone. I was about to turn off my phone when I saw the caller ID- my mom. My hands shook with fear and anxiety as I picked up the call. I threw a party for my birthday while my parents were away. My mom permitted me to do so, but she gave me some clear rules. All of which I broke. First, I lied that it'd be a small gathering. Second, she clearly stated that there should be no alcohol but that dickhead, Dylan showed up with crates of it. I was too busy drowning in my boy drama to pay any attention to him. The most important rule of them all was that I send everyone home after 7 pm. I did that, but I sent myself along with them.

Here I am, sitting on Isaac's couch staring deep into my phone as my mom's screaming was heard through the speakers. "Sarah! Where are you? Oh, it is past nine, and if I don't see you here in the next fifteen minutes, you will be in big trouble." She yelled and hung up. My mother was not the strictest, but she did get mad once in a while. I turned to Isaac and gave him a side frown, packing up my few things and I jolted out the door.

Getting home, I was disappointed with myself. I left the house in a disgusting state and went to another guy's home to go tend to his wounds. I made my way in slowly, cursing Peter under my breath.

"Why, if it isn't the birthday girl." My mom said and sipped on the glass of water in her hands, pretending it was wine.

"Mom, I'm sorry. But I can explain... if you'd want that." I answered, increasing the pitch of my voice deliberately.

Suddenly, the darkness that filled the living room was suddenly consumed by a bright light. My dad, who had gone on a 'business trip and couldn't make it' was slowly walking towards me with a birthday cake in his hands and a pink candle on top. Together, my parents sang the Happy Birthday song and stopped right in front of me.

"I'm sorry for yelling, honey. I am mad, but your birthday comes first." My mom said, coaxing me.

"I tried to get her to calm down, Kay. You know how she is. Happy birthday!" My dad smiled from ear to ear and took out a lighter from his left pocket after handing me my cake. He lit the candle and my parents looked at me eagerly waiting for a wish.

My eyes were suddenly filled with tears as I set the cake down and pulled my parents into a hug. "Thank you, mom. Thank you, dad." I cried on their shoulders as my mom slowly tapped on my back and let go of my hold.

"No tears, Kay. Not today. I've had a long day traveling. I deserve some cake, right?" My dad joked and my mom gave him the deadliest side eye.

"Yes, you do." I laughed in between sobs and sat on the couch and picked up my cake before closing my eyes to make a wish. I wished for happiness, for me and my family. I opened my eyes and blew the fire off the candle and my parents clapped in joy. I took a slice of the cake and fed a spoon to my dad before feeding it to my mom.

She glared at me and my dad jokingly elbowed her, causing her glare to break and a smile to creep into her face. "Thank you, I love you guys so much." I said to my parents and sat there, feeling like the most content girl.

Today felt like three weeks. It was full of surprises but I didn't care anymore because all the happiness I needed was right here with me.

"You are still cleaning this up, young lady." My mom declared before going upstairs and my dad and I laughed as we ate my birthday cake.
