Summary: Jax and Kinger venture out to find Sugar, who is thinking about some things.

(JAX POV)

"Ugh, these bright colors are making my head hurt," I whined as we walked through the frosting decorated hallways.

"It's actually quite aesthetically pleasing, if you ask me," Kinger said, looking around.

"Whatever. Let's just- find Sugar and get the heck out of here."

Kinger suddenly laughed from beside me. "You really like her, don't you?"

I felt my cheeks heat up. Like? What kind of like?

"What are you talking about?"

Kinger giggled. "Oh, nothing."

I rolled my eyes and we kept walking through the never ending hallways of candy.

(SUGAR POV)

Without realizing it, my avatar had changed. My dress now reached the floor and my hair was fancy with a tiara. My shoes turned into heels that seemed like they were 4 inches tall.

I really hope they find me soon. These people- NPCs haven't left me alone since we got here, and I have a pounding headache.

I was hungry, too. And it didn't help that the walls- despite being made of candy- weren't by any means edible.

Trust me, I tried.

My mind kept wandering to Jax. If he was okay, if he was coming to get me, his smile, his laugh, the way he walked, etcetera.

I found myself blushing at every thought of him now.

But I can't like him. That just- wouldn't be okay. He was my best friend and from what I've seen in movies or read in books, that never works out.

I tried to come up with a mental list of the things I don't like about him, but the paper came up empty.

Then I thought, why am I wishing for him to come and get me, when he let me get taken away?

He was standing there the whole time, wasn't he?

Why couldn't he have just- saved me then?

I'm no damsel in distress! I'm finding my own way out of here, whether it's in the game's code or not.
