31- Obvious

Summary: The gang has a chill day and everyone finds out about their “secret”, leaving Jax distressed. (Short ish chapter)

{JAX POV}
After going with Caine to his “office” for an employee evaluation, we all sat on the comfortable couches and loungers in the main area of the circus and just existed.

After our little nap we all had after our adventure, we really weren't all that tired and ended up staying up most of the night, chatting.

Sugar sat by my side with her legs in my lap as per usual. I boredly messed with the lace on the end of her knee high socks. I felt her curl closer to me.

Her head gently rested on my shoulder as the others talked. Everyone was sharing their experiences with Kinger, as he had taken Zoobles place of staying behind.

“Sounds like a pretty normal adventure to me,” He said.

I rolled my eyes. “If you count helping make 300 cheeseburgers for the gloink queen and her devil spawn, yeah. It was pretty normal.”

I made sure not to mention the punishment room.

For some reason, I still hear the words replaying in my head.

But I won't share that with you, because the author of this book is a lazy piece of shit.

“What happened while I was sleeping, Jax?” I heard Sugar say quietly rubbing her eyes.

She must still be tired.

“Not much. It was….uneventful. do you need to sleep, Sugarcube?” I asked her, pushing her green bangs out of her face.

“No,” She yawned.

I laughed and placed a kiss on her forehead, forgetting where I was.

“Uhhh….since when?” I geard a quiet voice say and my eyes widened.

I loked around the room to see wide eyes on me, all besides Ragatha, who was looking at me almost knowingly.

“Well- oh mind your business. Nothing is going on!” I raised my voice and Sugar smiled and patted the side of my face before kissing my lips gently. I could feel my face warm up a bright red.

The rest of the idiots laughed at me as Sugar got up and began to saunter down the way to the rooms.

“Sure, Cottontail. Nothing at all.”

Her voice was soft and flirty, making my heart temporarily stop.

I noticed out of all the laughter, Pomnis was strained and uncomfortable. It confused me.

But then I remember the way she looks At Sugar, and feel a twinge of sympathy for her.

Sugarcube, unfortunately for Pomni and fortunately for me, didn't swing that way. I felt bad but not too bad. After all, I was happy as I could be with Sugar. I shouldn't let this bother me so much.

But it was obvious for anyone to see:

Pomni was oh so totally in love with Sugar.
