Chapter-48

The next day Rubab woke up feeling her phone vibrating uncontrollably. She noticed one of her friend's missed call . There were 40 missed calls displayed on her phone screen. Rubab guessed something was serious so she called back.

" Did you hear that Dawood committed suicide?" Rubab's friend said before she could even say hello.

Rubab almost dropped the phone from her hand. Her eyes widened." What?"

" Are you on drugs?" Rubab was in disbelief.

Her friend informed her," I am not on drugs. Check the posts on our college group. Everyone was sharing this news that Dawood committed suicide."

" He killed himself and his mother by setting their house on fire," Rubab's friend said making Rubab dumbfounded.

She disconnected the call and logged into one of her social media accounts. Her friend was saying the truth. A lot of people from her college were sharing Dawood's pictures and posting them with various captions.

"Finally, a potential rapist is dead. What a relief"

" I am not sad that he died. He was a burden in this world"

" Rubab must be thanking God"

Not everyone was enjoying the news of Dawood's death. Some of his well wishers were deeply saddened by the news.

" May Allah grant him Jannah. He was one of the finest man I have ever seen."

" His heart was made of gold. He always helped everyone."

" I still can't believe he molested his best friend. I could be wrong. Since he always helped me, I will pray for him"

There were mixed reactions from the students of Rubab's college. Rubab was still in disbelief. As far as she knows Dawood, he would never commit suicide. Then, what the hell was happening. 

Suddenly, she remembered Walid. The news was definitely related to him. She requested Walid to do something about Dawood. Maybe he murdered Dawood and now presenting the incident as suicide.

She called him right away for confirmation. " I didn't tell you to kill him. I didn’t even tell you to hurt Dawood physically," Rubab screamed the moment he picked up the call.

Walid yelled back," I left him on the roadside wounded. I didn't kill him. I have no idea how did this news spread that he commited suicide."

" At least don't lie to me," Rubab was angry.

Walid replied," I swear I am not lying. Yes, I gave him serious injuries and left him to die. But, I have no idea how did this news spread that he commited suicide."

Rubab wasn't in the mood to hear anything. She just disconnected the call and collapsed on the floor. Maybe her conscience woke up. She started feeling guilty. 

" I didn't want you to die," Rubab mumbled. Her eyes stung with tears.

Well, it was all done by Darwish. Last night he admitted Dawood to a hospital. Dawood's situation was critical for few hours. He gained back his consciousness for sometime. That's when he requested Darwish to leave this country and take him somewhere else. Dawood was tired by of all the betrayals. But, his recovery was short lived. His situation got worsened and now he is in coma.

That's why Darwish created all the drama that Dawood has commited suicide. Darwish took Dawood and his mother to the USA so that Dawood can start a new life there. Dawood would suffocate here with all the insults he endured.
