" Tell me. Will you accept me? Would you fight with your brother for me?" Rubab asked again taking slow steps near him.
Dawood backed away. For a few seconds, he got nervous. However, he overcame this nervousness quite early and straightened his face.
" I would have fought the whole world for you if you loved me truly," Dawood responded. " Why should I fight for someone who always used me?"
Rubab lowered her eyes in shame. The regretful expression on her face didn’t go unnoticed by Dawood. But, he didn’t care if she regretted or not.
" Even, now. You are trying to use me," Dawood let out a smile of irony. " Let me clear some facts."
Rubab raised her teary eyes at him. Dawood didn’t fall for these eyes again. The lesson he learned from her betrayal didn’t let him pity these sorrowful eyes.
" You are well educated. You can get any respectable job out there. If you divorce my brother then you won't have to think about financial problems. You can bear your expenses easily. Moreover, you belong to a reputed family. Your family isn’t a billionaire but enough wealthy to support a divorcee daughter. Your brothrs will protect you if you tell them thr truth of your marriage. Your parents will support you no matter the situation. Not all girls are lucky to have such a supportive family. You and my brother don’t share any children. If you try to divorce him, he can't use the children card to bind you with him," Dawood explained.
Taking a breath, he continued saying," You have so many options to escape this horrible situation."
" But, I am not one of those options," He said. His voice was loud and clear.
Rubab understood what he was saying. However, she wasn’t ready to let go of him.
" Dawood, I apologise for whatever happened," she joined her hands together. " Please, don’t abandon me."
" I will love you this time. I promise. I will be the girl you always wanted. I realised my mistakes. Just give me one last chance. I promise I won't let you down this time," Rubab sounded desperate. She grabbed his hands tightly.
Dawood freed his hands from her tight grasp. Shaking his head, he backed away again.
" You will never love me. Actually, you can't love me. You never had any feelings for me. It's your guilt that is talking about loving me," Dawood said. " I can't accept you. As a well wisher and your old friend, I can only suggest you."
" Either you leave my brother or you can try to be happy with him. If you listen to him, obey him and accept his desires. I believe he will treat you with respect," Dawood suggested.
Rubab asked in disbelief," So, you won't confront your brother? You are just putting on a blind fold on your brother's horrible deeds."
" Your life. Your problems. As I said earlier. I can only give you suggestions. Accepting those suggestions or rejecting is up to you. I can't ruin our brotherly relationship because of your cause," Dawood gave her a clear answer. " If you are done here. Then, leave me alone."
