The Mortal's Dream
In a realm where myths were spun,
Beneath the stars' eternal gleam,
There lived a god with heart undone,
By beauty's light, a mortal's dream.Eros, the god of love and desire,
With arrows keen and aim so true,
A heart enflamed, a soul on fire,
Yet fate had woven something new.Psyche, fair with grace profound,
A mortal girl, with spirit bright,
Whose beauty whispered without sound,
A beacon in the endless night. One day, by chance or fate's design,
Eros beheld her in her grace,
His heart, unpierced by arrow’s line,
Fell captive to her tender face.Though meant to strike with golden dart,
To make her love another's name,
He found she owned his very heart,
Without the need of Cupid's aim.He called her Agape, pure and kind,
A love that soared above the skies,
In her, the peace he'd longed to find,
Reflected deep within her eyes.Through trials, secrets, shadows cast,
They held to love with steadfast might,
Proving true love can always last,
Even through the darkest night. So, though the myths may twist and turn,
And arrows miss or find their mark,
Know this truth, which hearts discern,
Love’s light can pierce through any dark. And if you wonder where love’s found,
Or how a god could love so deep,
Remember Eros' heart unbound,
For you, my Agape, my soul will keep.
