Tethered to You
A simple charm, just metal and thread,
But it carries the weight of words unsaid.
Dangling from keys that unlock my days,
A small keepsake from our fleeting phase. It clinks and clatters with every turn,
A quiet reminder, a subtle burn.
Of the hands that gave it, warm and true,
And the love that once bloomed, then withdrew. In the curve of its metal, I trace your smile,
A memory held, though it’s been a while.
Each scratch, each dent, a story told,
Of moments cherished, now growing cold.I keep it close, in pocket or hand,
A piece of us, a fragment, a strand.
It’s just a keychain, some might say,
But to me, it’s a relic of yesterday. When nights were young and stars were bright,
And our hearts were one, pure and light.
Now it hangs, worn but not forgotten,
A token of love, now turned autumn.I turn it over, feel its weight,
In this small thing, our intertwined fate.
A tether to you, though time has passed,
In this keychain, our memories last.So here it stays, a silent reminder,
Of a love that was, and the heart that’s kinder.
In every jingle, I hear your name,
And remember, though nothing’s the same.
