Keep telling yourself that

"Why do you even want someone who doesn't want you? You seemed perfectly happy that day with that girl on your lap." I say swallowing the pills. The taste of citrus laced my mouth.

I take a bite of food hesitantly. Staring at him.

"As I've already said, it doesn't matter the moment my eyes ground yours; you were meant to be mine. Nobody mattered but you. It will always be you. You stopped my whole world when our eyes met. Now I know you couldn't possibly understand what I'm saying as you are human, but eventually, you will feel the way I do. My mark helps with that." He says before taking a bite of food. His eyes felt like they were staring into my soul.

"Now I doubt that. I dont think your mark will aid in making me not like you. You destroyed my house and my things. Why? Because you know the minute I'd have a chance to run, I'd go back, but that's where you are wrong. I wouldn't go where you thought I would. That would be too simple and predictable. We both know predicable might be a human characteristic, but it's not mine. I will figure out a way to remove this mark even if I seek aid from a witch. I will." I say angry.

His face contorted in anger before quickly vanishing. "Well, think what you want. Fight it all you want. However, one day your legs will be trembling because of me as you scream my name. It's not a matter of if you will, but when. One day your stomach will swell with our children. You are predictable; you just don't realize it. I'd kill every last witch before you ever attempted something like that. However, no witch would ever break a bond; it's impossible. The only person who can sever a bond is the one who put it there to begin with." He says with a smirk before drinking his orange juice.

I look into his eyes, looking for fault but seeing nothing.

"I don't like you; what can you not understand about that?" I snap, dropping my fork on the plate and shoving it away lightly. My appetite is gone.

"You will." He says, clenching his jaw in response to my behavior.

I roll my eyes. "Keep telling yourself that." I scoffed.
Leaning back into the chair.

"You will make a fine queen. You are strong-willed. But not more than me, little mate. I'll have your submission soon which I'm sure of. Play coy and tough all you want to. I enjoy a good chase." He says, smirking, crossing his arms over his chest. His muscles were bulging out.

I shake my head at myself.
Stop fucking looking at him like that! I tell myself as I catch myself looking at his body.

He narrowed his eyes, and his smirk grew.
"You can look all you want; it's all yours after all." He says

"I wasn't looking," I say defensively.

He chuckled in response.
"If that's what you gotta tell yourself to sleep at night, be my guest." He says cocky.

I just want to smack the smirk on his face.
"I could say the same to you." I look away.

"Eat the rest of your food." He says to me suddenly.

"Nah. You ruined my appetite." I say not looking at me.

"Eat the rest of your food." He says firmer.

"No," I say, rolling my eyes.

"No?" He says as if he hardly ever heard to speak to his.

"Aren't you supposed to have good hearing? Old man." I say, avoiding his eyes.

He could easily charm me or alpha-tongue me, and I wasn't about to let that happen again.

"My hearing is plenty good, actually. I can even hear your heartbeat thudding erratically. I can hear your lungs breathing. I was just giving you another shot to listen to me." He says his tone had a mocking undertone.

"Why would I listen to you? You haven't been kind to me. You do what you want to, and that's the problem." I say getting up from the table.

He firmly grabs my jaw, his eyes red.
"Eat the rest of your food now." He demanded.
I glare at him and clench my jaw in anger.

"You said you wouldn't do that to me anymore. You are a liar." I say grabbing my plate and moving it to me as I finish my food.

He growls lowly.
"I never lied. I told you I wouldn't charm or alpha-tone you if you just listened, and I gave you multiple chances." He explained angrily.

"Sometimes in life, Sebastian, people are going to do things you don't like or say things you don't like. Get over it." I tell him, sighing as I eat the food unconditionally.

"I'm your mate. Every single thing I do is what I feel is in your best interest, even if that means going against your wishes. I will. You don't understand how any of this works. You didn't even finish your schooling when your parents died, so you know nothing of mates. If you did, you wouldn't be acting this way." He tells me he sighs, rubbing his hand over his sharp jaw.

"You don't understand how I'd move mountains and earth to keep you safe and healthy. Ideally, I'd like for you to be happy too, but that will come with time as the bond forms a bit more and my mark sets in." He continues

"Sets in?" I ask, looking up from my plate.

"Well, other than if your mate isn't allowing you to leave, it is painful. Heat will set in because the bond becomes impossible to ignore." He explains to me.

I closed my eyes tightly as I felt tears of frustration starting to flow.

"I'm not going to apologize for marking my mate. My wolf hates seeing you upset. It had to be done. You said you'd run. I couldn't keep you safe if you ran away." He tries explaining.
