Miguel had his surgery and was now recovering in hospital. It was lunch at school, and Eli was showing Jess a video of him kicking this plant pot off of what looks to be a log of wood that he put on Instagram. Jess was never one to post much on Instagram but she had it because she was very nosy about other people's lives. Eli often posted a picture of them together though which she thought was sweet. They looked good together, people wanted to be them, wanted what they had.

"That looks sick" she says to him after watching the video. She sat on the table with her feet on the seat while Eli was doing kick ups and this other guy was filming. Jess didn't really make much of an effort to learn all these kids names, they were sort of just there.

"22 new record" Eli says when he finishes. He looks over to see Demetri showing his project to Yasmine and Moon. Jess looks up and sees it too. Jess was currently holding a grudge against Demetri for embarrassing Eli infront of Moon's party, and partly for the review too because that was just messed up. She knew it was childish since it was long ago but that's not what friends do.

Eli picks up the ball "can I?" He asks Jess

"Go for it" she scoffs. He throws the ball right into the Lego project he made. Demetri looks over furious.

"I'm sorry man, looks like my ball just got away from me" Eli says walking over to him.

"That took me three weeks to build" Demetri tells him

"Took my ball three seconds to destroy" Eli smirks before walking back to the table where Jess was. She stands up as Demetri follows him over.

"Another week, another pissing contest" Demetri says "I shouldn't be surprised since you love pissing so much"

Jess looked at him a bit confused because seriously what kind of comeback is that.

"You landed one kick" Eli says to him "you got lucky"

"Back off or you won't be lucky" Sam says crossing her arms

Jess scoffs "like you'll start anything princess"

"How about you go sleep around with someone new, break his heart" Eli says to Sam and she pushes him back.

"What's going on here Miss LaRusso?" Counsellor Blatt interrupted "you know our guidelines against physical contact" she turns to Eli "did she enter your personal bubble without your consent?" She asks him and he changes his
demeanour to seem like how he used to be.

"Yeah she definitely triggered me in my safe space" he says looking down and rubbing his arm. Jess bit her lip slightly to stop herself from laughing because Counsellor Blatt was definitely going to fall for this.

"What are you talking about? He started by destroying my science project" Demetri claims

"That was an accident" Jess says "you probably shouldn't be bringing toys to school anyway" she smirks

"I don't want excuses. I just want you all to respect each other" Counsellor Blatt explains

"She's right we should stop the aggression" Eli says

"Give me a break" Sam tells Eli

"Hey, consider this a warning Miss LaRusso" Counsellor Blatt tells her "and pick these Legos off the ground someone could get hurt" she says before walking away

"For you pansies, no space is safe" Eli says before wrapping an arm around Jess' shoulders and walking away

"You can do so much better Jess" Demetri calls after them but she ignores it.

Later in the day there was a soccer game, Jess wasn't involved but Eli was and on the other team Demetri and Sam were. She watched from the sides, she knew before it even started that there was going to be some issues.

Eli ran past and winked at her which she smiled at. He was then running with Demetri who pushed him over. Jess rolled her eyes.

After that it got more brutal, and Jess also notices that Eli was surprisingly good at soccer which she wasn't expecting. It didn't take long for the referee to call the game off and send them to see Counsellor Blatt.

Eli was in her office. Jess knew how this would play out. Eli had too many years of speaking to Counsellor Blatt about bullying behind him for her to not believe whatever he says. Jess stood against the wall, Cobra Kai's on one side of the door, Miyagi dos on the other.

"I can't believe you're still with him" Demetri spoke up to Jess

She scoffs "you don't know a thing about my relationship"

"Well I know that he has changed for the worst and soon enough you are going to realise just how bad he has gotten" Demetri says to her "you can't keep pretending he is the same as he used to be because he isn't"

Jess stays quiet.

Soon enough Eli walks out the office with Counsellor Blatt behind him. "Caldwell, Johnson, Rickenberger, the three of you and Eli are free to go" she says and Jess smiles.

As they walk away they can hear the protests from Sam and Demetri.

"Ice cream?" Eli asks

"I'd love ice cream right about now" she smiles

That evening Johnny and Jess went to visit Miguel in the hospital, Johnny claimed he could get Miguel walking again.

They walk into Miguel's room to see him reaching for his phone. Jess smiles at him, it has been a while since she had seen him.

"What are you doing here?" Miguel asks

"Want the phone?" Johnny asks

"Yes" Miguel says. Johnny pushes the table it was on to the other side of the room, Jess watches confused.

"Go get it" Johnny tells him

"I can't walk" Miguel protests "even without the surgery I might never-"

"Quiet!" Johnny shouts causing the teenagers to jump "'never' 'can't' those are just meaningless words. It's time for you to get out of bed and do something. You're not a kid anymore. The world won't hand it to you. If you want something you'll need to crawl across the floor, use your damn teeth if you have to. You'll do whatever it take. And I'll always be right here next to you" he tells Miguel

"Me too" Jess buts in

"Now go get it" Johnny tells Miguel

"Yes sensei" Miguel replies. He starts to sit up and pull himself out of the bed, just when they thought he might get out he fell to the floor.

"Oh shit" Jess says

"It's alright you fell like a champ" Johnny tells him "Nurse!" He calls
