"Good Jess" Johnny says after she kicks the frisbee "reminder not to piss you off" she heads back to the line "Assface!"
"Does my nickname need to carry over from the previous dojo?" Mitch asks
"Do you want to be penis breath?" Johnny asks
"Assface is fine" Mitch says before kicking the frisbee
"Good Penis breath!" Johnny says "okay Diaz you're up. Imagine this is the guy I stole this frisbee from, imagine his stupid white dreads" he hold the frisbee up and Miguel slowly turns and kicks it. "All right good hustle. Who's next?"
"No I can do it sensei" Miguel tells him
"Miguel it's fine" Johnny says but Miguel insists. Johnny folds the frisbee up again and when Miguel goes to kick it he falls on the floor. Jess winces for him. "Okay everyone take five, get some water" Johnny says.
Jess goes over to her bottle to get some water and she sits down on the grass lowering her head.
"You've got to be shitting me!" Mitch shouts causing Jess to look up at him
"What?" Johnny asks
"They cancelled the All Valley" Mitch explains
"They did what!"
Johnny had just driven Jess and Miguel home after practice and they were talking about the All Valley.
"You gotta tell them what karate means to you sensei" Miguel says "how you started it to help kids like me, you know, taught us how to stand up for ourselves"
"Maybe this is a blessing in disguise" Johnny says while they walk together
"What's that supposed to mean?" Miguel asks
"It's not like you're gonna fight anyone" Jess tells him
"Yes I will" Miguel claims
"Training with no contact is one thing, I can't risk getting you hurt again" Johnny explains
"It's fine I'm training" Miguel claims
"It's for your safety" Johnny says
"I thought safety was for pussies?" Miguel inquires
They kept going at it but Jess was stood away from them looking at her phone. She was just checking Instagram when she saw Hawk's new post, it was just another karate video. She took a deep breath. He still had all the pictures of them while they were together up, some people probably wouldn't even realise they weren't together anymore.
She leaves her dad and Miguel outside when she opens the door with her keys to her apartment. She heads straight to her room and collapses on her bed, she was very tired from practice. Just when she closes her eyes her phone buzzes, it was Robby. He text to say he was out of juvy. Jess visited once, even though they weren't on the best terms they still spoke for a while about things.
Jess then got another message from Moon inviting her round to sleep over tonight. She said she could and started packing her stuff to go.
"Omg come out" Moon laughs, telling Jess to come out of the bathroom to show off the outfit Moon picked out for her from her clothes.
"Okay fine" Jess whines before opening the door and stepping out.
Moons jaw drops "you look so good, I knew I was right about the top"
"I would never wear this" Jess says with a straight face
"Only because you wear baggy, graphic tees all the time" Moon jokes
"That's no all I wear, I have nice clothes" Jess exclaims
"I'm kidding" Moon says and Jess sits down next to her on the bed
"How's it going with Piper?" Jess asks
"Yeah still good" Moon smiles but doesn't expand further
"You can still talk about your relationship with me even though I'm not in one anymore" Jess tells her
"Yeah I know but it feels wrong" Moon says "like I'm rubbing it in your face or something"
"I was the one that ended things" Jess says
"You didn't really want to though" Moon says and Jess looks down "hey it was the right thing to do, he needs some time" moon puts her hand on Jess' arm and she nods looking back up.
