Branch and Poppy One Shot

Never Love Again

A Tragic Event Happened. This is a Request for True_Colors_ Alice and Eric belong to her.

Everything was dark and she heard beeping coming from around her she opens her eyes slightly closes them then opens them. She looks around to see see is in a hospital room, she looks to see her name on the board. 'Why am I here?' She asked herself in her mind thinking.

Her eyes opened and she gulped and felt tears welling in her eyes. It was yesterday a building was on fire the same one her and Branch were in.

Flashback..

Branch and Poppy were busy setting up for their 2 year of dating party when a fire broke out smoke everywhere, both coughing.

''Poppy!'' Shouted Branch as he took her hand and they made their way out of the room to see the place surrounded in fire.

''This way.'' He said as he pulled Poppy with him they made it up to the stairs higher until they came to the roof and saw there was no way out except for jumping.

''Branch what are we going to do we are stuck?'' Asked Poppy as she clung to him.

''We stay up here we die, we have to jump.'' He said.

''No Branch if we do we will die.'' Poppy said looking down.

''If we stay up here we will die at least down there we can survive might be hurt but its our only shot.'' He said pulling her into a hug as they fire was at the door.

''Branch..'' She cried hugging him.

''Its ok Poppy, I love you.'' He said as he kissed her lips she kisses back they hold each other, on 3.'' He said.

He counted as they held hands and jumped he held her close to him as they landed.

Flashback over..

Poppy shook her head in tears remembering what happened and thought back to all the good times they had.

Flashback..

Him and Poppy were walking and she was laughing at a joke of his, they would go out to eat and once his sleeve caught on fire when he wasn't watching and she used water to get it out both laughed at it.

He asked her to go out she was happy. ''So Poppy I was wondering if you wanted to go out with me and start a relationship together.'' He held her hands staring into her face.

''I'd love to Branch.'' She kisses him.

She was sick and he was with her the whole time, then when he was sick she was with him they danced together, and they went on a lot of dates they were in love. He bought her flowers and made her feel like a princess and that she was the only one in his world.

They were sitting outside under the stars cuddling and kissing. ''Oh Branch do you ever think of tomorrow?'' She asked.

''Yes all the time and there is nothing we can do but live each day as if it was our last.'' He then kisses her and she wraps her arms around him as they kiss.

Back to when they were on the roof and he gave her a final farewell kiss as he risked his life for her holding her so she would land on him.

Flashback over..

Poppy sat in the hospital bed and tears came running down her face she looked down to see she had his hug time bracelet. She hugged it and started to cry knowing he wasn't there anymore. She had an idea same as Branch that it wasn't an accident.

Then there was a knock at the door and in came Creep-Creek he was dressed up looking nice and handsome and he had flowers and walks over to see Poppy staring out the window. She looked up in hope then saw Creek and she gave a sad frown.

''Hey Poppy how are you doing?'' He asked.

She shook her head and looked out the window sighing and hugging her knees.

''Don't worry love, you don't have to suffer because he's gone, you have me to keep you company.'' He said setting the flowers down and sitting on the end of the hospital bed.

When he said that Poppy's eyes widened and she realized he caused the fire after she rejected him all those years ago he said he would get her in the end. She glares at him coldly it made sense he was here and no one else was and she remember seeing him there yesterday.

''So lets start our new lives together just the two of us. I did once make a promise to Peppy that I would take care of you.'' He said taking hold of her hand.

Poppy looks at him with a sad frown and yanked her hand away. ''No sorry I'm not looking to be in a relationship ever again.'' She said firmly.

''What?! Come on your still young there are plenty of trolls out there who would love you me especially.'' He said not believing her he wanted her to be his.

''My love and happiness will always be fore Branch no other guy but my dad can change that. ''Besides I would never date you, your the reason the building caught on fire just because I rejected you, how could you.'' She yelled letting out her anger.

''Poppy what are you talking about?" He started sweating a bit.

Suddenly the door opened and in came the cops along with Poppy's adopted sister Alice and Branch's brother Eric.

''There he is he is the one responsible for the fire at the building.'' Alice said glaring at him.

''Don't deny it Creek you killed my brother on purpose so you could swoop in and have Poppy to yourself I have video evidence of you starting the fire.'' Eric said.

''Creek your under arrest for the murder of Branch and starting a fire lets go.'' The office cuffed Creek.

''Poppy pleas tell them it wasn't me!'' He begged but Poppy didn't reply she didn't even hear him as he was taken away. Alice and Eric went with to make sure he was gone.

Poppy sighed talking to herself looking at Branch's hug time bracelet. 'I don't understand why you risked your life for me Branch, but I keep thinking about everyday and forever. I love you Branch and no one can replace you in my heart.'' She hugged his hug time bracelet.

The window was opened and she felt a bit of wind blow through mostly around her and it stopped.

After 3 weeks of being in the hospital and making sure she was alright, she was able to leave he hospital and go home with her friends wearing Branch's hug time bracelet.
