The gig was rammed when they got there.
The support act already playing their final couple of songs, they all grabbed a drink and snaked their way near to the front.
Steve turned to Lin.
"You heard much of their material then?"

Lin shook his head.
"No, just the cover that they're going to sing at the concert on Wednesday. I've kept meaning to listen to others but honestly I don't know where time has gone this week."

Steve nodded.
"Tell me about it. I was supposed to meet Kel for lunch to see how things were going but I just haven't had time. She'll be meeting us after though for a couple of drinks in the late bar down the road. You staying out?"

"Yeah absolutely!" He took another drink. "If you're sure she wouldn't mind me being there"

Steve frowned at him.
"Why would she?"

"Well we don't seem to have got off to a good start."

Steve laughed.
"I'm sure she knows you didn't throw tea at her on purpose."

Lin looked sheepish.
"No... she told me if I wanted to feel her tits I should've just asked."

Steve nearly choked on his beer laughing.
"Oh my God. She's so classy! Well the fact she didn't smack you in the face proves it. She likes you."

Lin grinned at him and Mark passed him another drink "You ok?"

"I'm having a great time. It's nice to be able to be out somewhere without being hassled."

Mark nodded. "Yeah I bet. I imagine it gets a bit much sometimes?"

"It does. But it comes with the territory. Don't think there will be many musical theatre fans in tonight so I should be good"

Mark smiled.
"Yeah probably not a common crossover."

The lights went down and the crowd erupted round them cheering.
Lin felt a surge of adrenaline. It had been a while since he could relax and just enjoy a gig without people staring at him.
The band fired up. The lights started to flash and the crowd roared as they took the stage.  Lin looked up at Kelly. She was lit by a single spotlight, her hair shining like glass. She had a simple black vest top on and some very tight short shorts, her signature black thigh boots on her feet.
He breathed in quickly. She was absolutely stunning. They ran through their most well known songs. The crowd lapping them up, lost in the beats and the moment.
Time passed quickly.
Rob spoke. "Ok! We're going to slow things down a bit. Let you motherfuckers calm down. This is a bit of a curve ball music wise but I think you'll enjoy it."

Kelly walked to the microphone centre stage and the lighting changed. Rob high fived her and walked off. She was standing on her own in the spotlight. Just the drummer Zac, behind her in darkness.

She started to play. It took Lin a moment but he recognised the song - Lady Gaga's 'Hold my hand.'
He was in awe.
She sang with such feeling he couldn't breathe.  She suddenly moved her gaze and looked straight at him. Lin gasped, he felt as though she was singing directly to him and looking straight into his heart.

"I see that you're bleeding, you don't need to show me again."
She reached her hand out towards him "Promise you'll just hold my hand."

The song finished and the cheering nearly took the roof off.
She nodded to Lin and a slight frown crossed her face. The lights came back on and the rest of the band returned to the stage.

Steve was cheering "Nice one Kel!"
He looked at Lin.
"Pretty good isn't she. Hey are you ok?"

Lin looked at him. "She's amazing. Her voice .... Wow"
