Mark sighed as he tapped in his PIN number to the card machine and requested his account balances.
They had been saving so hard to mend the roof, even counting the money he had put to one side for Julie's surprise engagement ring they were still nowhere near.

Nothing for it.

He would have to see if he could get a loan from the bank.
With another baby on the way he had no choice. They couldn't all stay in one room.

The machine whirred and he pulled out the slip of paper.
He started to walk off but suddenly stopped.
The balance in his current account at over £10,000.

"What the..."

He went back to the machine and printed out another with the same result.

He walked into the bank and waited his turn.

"How can I help?"

"Yes, hi. I've just got a balance printout from the machine. Can you check it please. I don't think it's right."

"Certainly Sir."
She tapped his details into the machine and passed him the printout.

"Ok, can you tell me how come there is this much in the account please. It's not right."

She printed off the last few days entries. Mark looked at it and opened his eyes wide.
"Erm. Thank you. That's great"
He walked out in a daze and took his phone out of his pocket.

"Mark! Hi how are things, hows Julie getting on?"

"Yes she's good thanks. How about Kel?"

"She's doing really well. The sickness seems to be going a bit now thankfully." He quietly added.
"She wants sex all the time, I can't keep up! I'm exhausted."

Mark laughed.
"Erm. This is a really strange thing to ask. But have you put £10,000 into my Bank Account by any chance?"

"Yeah. Get the roof fixed. You can't keep sleeping in the same room."

"Lin I can't accept that!"

"Oh you can and you will."

"No way! It's far too much..."

"Mark, It's a present for you all, and the new baby. It's purely selfish reasons. We will all want somewhere to stay when we come over. Please accept it. If it wasn't for you I wouldn't have Kelly, or a baby on the way. If it wasn't for you inviting me to that first gig we would never have got talking. There is a stipulation attached though.."

"What's that?"

"Buy Julie the damn ring"

Mark smiled.
"Deal."
