*Arin POV*
A sharp, piercing beep jolted me awake. My hand shot out, fumbling for the snooze button before my brain could fully wake up.
Ugh, I despised waking up early. I was more of a night owl rather than an early bird but I had to wake up early today to get ready and go to the company building which was in Seoul. They called me yesterday and told me to come at 9 AM to sign the trainee contract.
I still couldn't believe I got accepted into Big Hit! I never got a callback from the three big companies though, and that definitely lowered my confidence, but Seokjin and his windshield wiper laugh lifted my mood. He told me that it was their loss for missing out on me. How could I still be upset after that?
I did my morning routine, then threw on a grey sweatpant with a matching grey sweatshirt and rushed out of my room.
The silent treatment my parents gave me in the dining room was too much to handle so I grabbed my phone and wallet and started putting on my sneakers, deciding to eat breakfast at the convenience store.
"I'm going to the company building to sign the trainee contract. I'll probably be back by noon," I said, breaking the deafening silence.
My parents sighed and my mother came forward to ask me, "Are you really sure you want to do this? You know, being a K-pop idol isn't one of the most promising careers out there. You'll have to train for a long time and even after that, you won't even have a hundred percent guarantee that you'll debut."
"Mom,I really want to do this. This has become my dream now. I promise I'll work hard. I'll debut and make you proud." With that, I left my house.
As I was walking towards the nearest convenience store, someone bumped into me and I almost fell. When I turned around to look, I saw Seokjin grinning at me. Caught up in my mom's words, I had almost forgotten that he travelled by train to reach Konkuk University in Seoul, where he was studying film currently.
We both catched up on breakfast at the convenience store and took the same train to Seoul. From there we departed and I reached my destination. The company building was unremarkable, but as I stepped inside to begin my journey, its exterior held little significance to me.

Inside I found Sejin, the same person who had given me the company card a few weeks ago. I went up to him and greeted him, "Hello, I'm Kang Arin. I'm here to sign the trainee contract."
"Of course, please follow me. I hope you remember me from that day, I'm Sejin. This place isn't very big, I know, but it's all we have. C'mon, let me introduce you to the CEO and founder of Big Hit," he replied.
As he led me through the different halls, my eyes scanned the interiors of the building. Sure, it wasn't very fancy but who was I to judge? We abruptly halted in front of a door with a nameplate that said 'Bang Si-Hyuk'. Sejin ushered me into the small office. A middle-aged man sat behind a desk. He looked up, his eyes scanning me with a curious intensity.
"Arin-ah, meet the founder of Big Hit Entertainment, Bang PD-nim. PD-nim, this is Kang Arin, the only girl who passed the audition we held last week," Sejin introduced. Hearing this, my ears perked up and my eyes widened a bit. I was the only girl who passed the audition? No way!
Bang PD's subtle clearing of throat led me back to reality. He started, "Yes Arin, I know it seems hard to believe but among all the candidates, you were the best one and also, the only girl. Your vocals and rap seem to be your talents. But I hope you know that to become an idol, you need to learn to dance too. Don't worry though, you can learn to do that here."
He nudged forward some documents and said, "This is our trainee contract. Go through it once before making your decision." I took the contract and started reading it thoroughly.
This is an agreement between Kang A-rin (the "Trainee") and Big Hit Entertainment (the "Company").

My eyes scanned the pages one more time, double-checking every word. It felt like a huge decision. It was.
With a deep breath, I picked up the pen. My heart pounded against my chest as I signed my name at the bottom of the page. This was it. I officially took the first step towards my dream.
A/N: Heyyy, this was such a long chapter. Arin has finally signed the contract. The building tour is coming up in the next chapter. Stay tuned. Byee.
