The days leading up to their departure passed in a blur of preparation, anticipation, and the occasional burst of excitement that Jordan couldn't quite contain. She stood in front of the mirror, double-checking her outfit for the flight—comfortable, but still chic. Italy was waiting, and she wanted to look and feel her best for the first leg of their escape.

Kylian appeared in the doorway, holding their packed suitcases. "Ready, my love?"Jordan turned to him, her heart swelling at the sight of him standing there, looking effortlessly handsome, even in casual travel clothes. She smiled, nodding. "Ready."They had both been counting down to this moment. The trial was behind them, and with it, the months of stress and sleepless nights. Now, it was just the two of them—no deadlines, no courtrooms, no paparazzi hounding their every move.

Their driver arrived promptly, and within minutes, they were on their way to the airport. As the car wound its way through the streets of Paris, Jordan gazed out the window, watching the city blur past. She'd always loved Paris—the city had a magic of its own—but now, her thoughts were entirely on the adventure ahead. The winding streets of Italy, the hidden cafés, the warm sun on her skin as they explored side by side.

They arrived at the airport just in time to avoid the bustling midday crowds. Jordan could feel the excitement bubbling up inside her as they boarded the plane, the luxury seats making it all feel even more surreal. As the plane took off, she glanced over at Kylian, who was staring out the window, his face lit up by the setting sun. Italy was just hours away now, and Jordan could hardly believe it. It felt like a dream—one that they had both worked so hard to make a reality.

Mid-flight, the cabin lights dimmed, and the quiet hum of the plane felt like the perfect backdrop for reminiscing. With champagne glasses in hand and Italy hours away, Kylian and Jordan found themselves in a rare moment of reflection. A peaceful silence settled between them, but it wasn't long before Kylian broke it with a quiet chuckle.

Jordan turned to him, curious. "What's so funny?"
He smirked, shaking his head. "I was just thinking about how far we've come."
Jordan raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "Oh? Do tell."

Kylian turned to her, a mischievous smile playing on his lips. " it's pretty funny how we started."

Jordan smirked, knowing exactly what he meant. "You mean how we couldn't stand each other?"

"Exactly," Kylian chuckled, his voice filled with playful disbelief. "We were constantly at each other's throats. I couldn't figure out if you were trying to annoy me on purpose or if you were just that stubborn."

Jordan laughed, rolling her eyes. "Oh, I definitely was trying to annoy you. You had that whole 'arrogant superstar' vibe going on. I couldn't resist."

Kylian raised an eyebrow, pretending to be offended. "Arrogant? I was confident."

"Sure," Jordan teased. "Confidently arrogant." They both laughed, the tension from months ago feeling like a distant memory now. It had been a whirlwind from the beginning—a clash of personalities, fueled by misunderstandings, pride, and the fact that neither of them was willing to back down.

"Remember the first time we met? At my party?"

She rolled her eyes immediately, a smile tugging at her lips. "How could I forget? You spilled an entire drink on me."

"You bumped into me," Kylian corrected, laughing softly, "and instead of apologizing, I..."

"acted like the biggest jerk," Jordan interrupted, her grin widening. "Yeah, I remember."

Kylian laughed, leaning back in his seat. "Okay, I wasn't at my best that night. But you have to admit, we hated each other from day one."

Jordan nodded, fully agreeing. "Absolutely. I thought you were arrogant, self-centered, and..."

"devastatingly handsome," Kylian added with a smirk, cutting her off.

She laughed, shaking her head. "That's debatable."

It was true, though. At the time, Jordan had found him infuriatingly attractive but equally insufferable. They had been thrown into the same friend group, which only made things more awkward. Mutual friends kept them in proximity far more than either of them would have liked at first.

"I remember telling Luna that I couldn't stand being around you," Jordan said, her eyes sparkling with amusement at the memory. "You were so rude, and it didn't help that everyone thought the sun shined out of your—"

"Hey, be nice," Kylian cut in, grinning.

Jordan laughed again. "But seriously, it wasn't until we ended up on that vacation together that things started to change."

"Dubai," Kylian said, nodding. "Yeah, that's when it hit me. I had been an idiot."
Jordan raised an eyebrow. "Oh? What exactly hit you?"

He hesitated for a second, then shrugged, as if the memory still surprised him. "That I liked you. More than liked you. We were all having fun, you were the only single one left in the group, and then"

Jordan cut in, remembering exactly what had happened. "that guy approached me at dinner and asked me out."

Kylian's smile faltered, but he laughed. "Yeah. And you agreed. I remember wanting to punch the guy."
Jordan smirked. "You didn't seem jealous at all."

"Trust me, I was," Kylian admitted, his voice quieting as he looked over at her. "Seeing you agree to go on a date with someone else? That's when I realized I couldn't stand the idea of you being with anyone but me."

Jordan softened, her heart skipping a beat as she listened to his confession. She had known there was something different about that night, but hearing him say it out loud made it all the more real.
"You didn't say anything, though," she pointed out.

Kylian shrugged. "What was I supposed to say? I'd been a jerk to you for months. I didn't think you'd ever see me as anything more than the arrogant footballer who spilled a drink on you."
Jordan smiled, reaching out to take his hand. "Well, you were wrong."

Kylian squeezed her hand, his expression tender. "Thankfully. Because after that night, I couldn't stop thinking about you. Even after we got back from Dubai, I kept finding excuses to be around you. And somewhere along the way, we just... clicked."

Jordan nodded, her eyes meeting his. "It wasn't an easy journey, was it?"
Kylian chuckled, planting a soft kiss on her lips. "No! It's funny how things turn out, huh? From enemies to... this."
Jordan smiled, leaning in closer. "To this."
