Jealous

Weeks had passed since Michael joined the firm, and Jordan and he had naturally grown closer through their work. She appreciated having a familiar face at the office, someone who understood her professionally and had a history of friendship. When she and Kylian decided to host a small dinner party with friends, it felt natural to invite Michael along.

As the doorbell rang, Jordan wiped her hands on a kitchen towel and opened the door to reveal Michael, holding a bottle of wine and a bright smile. "I brought this to celebrate my first month!" he exclaimed, stepping inside.

"Perfect! I'm so glad you could join us," Jordan said, leading him to the dining area where the table was set with colorful dishes.

Luna, Jess, and Neymar soon arrived, and the atmosphere turned lively with laughter and chatter. They shared stories over dinner, reminiscing about their university days and the silly things they did together.

The evening started off perfectly. Their house was filled with laughter and conversation. Kylian was being his charming self, joking with the other guests, while Jordan floated around, making sure everyone was comfortable. The atmosphere was light and easy, and as the wine flowed, the conversation turned to sharing old embarrassing stories.

"Remember that time we tried to pull an all-nighter before finals and ended up falling asleep in the library?" Michael laughed, his eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "I thought I was going to fail, but somehow we all passed!"

Jordan chuckled, her face lighting up as she joined in the memory. "And we were so convinced we'd get caught! I still can't believe the librarian didn't notice us!"

As the conversation flowed, Michael continued to share more anecdotes from their time at uni. "Oh! And the Halloween party when we dressed up as those ridiculous characters?" he said, grinning. "I've never seen you rock a hotdog costume like that!"

The laughter around the table intensified, but Kylian felt a slight pang of jealousy twist in his stomach. He didn't want to spoil the moment, but seeing how animated Jordan became while talking to Michael stirred something in him.

"Is that the party where we played that crazy drinking game?" Jessica chimed in, her eyes wide with amusement.

"Exactly!" Michael responded enthusiastically, not missing a beat. "We had no idea how many rounds we had done until we all started losing track of time."

Kylian forced a smile, trying to engage in the conversation while suppressing the flicker of jealousy. "Sounds like a wild time," he said, trying to keep his tone light.

Jordan, with a cheeky grin, began recounting a few of her wilder moments from her university days. "There was that one time when I somehow convinced everyone at the party to start dancing on tables. Let's just say I wasn't exactly the quiet, reserved type back then."

The group erupted into laughter, but it was Michael's comment that made Kylian tense up. "Oh, I remember those days. Jordan was a total party animal! I'm surprised she settled down so quickly. But again, you've always been a lover girl " Michael said, a hint of nostalgia in his voice. "She had this wild, savage side that made her the life of every party."

Kylian's eyes flicked over to Michael, his jaw tightening slightly. The comment was innocent enough, but there was something in Michael's tone that didn't sit well with him. Kylian knew about Jordan's party days, but hearing Michael speak about it with such familiarity sparked a pang of jealousy he hadn't expected.

"Yeah, well, people grow up," Kylian said, his voice just a little sharper than usual as he tried to mask the irritation. "She's got a lot more going for her now."

Michael, seemingly oblivious to the tension, laughed. "True, but I still think some of that wild side is in there, waiting to come out."

Jordan, sensing the shift in Kylian's mood, quickly changed the subject, laughing it off. "Well, I'm not sure I could keep up with that version of myself anymore. I've traded wild parties for quiet nights and Netflix."

But Kylian remained quieter than usual, his arm resting possessively around Jordan as the conversation moved on. The evening carried on with more jokes and stories, but Kylian couldn't quite shake the unease. He knew he trusted Jordan, but seeing how close she and Michael had become gnawed at him in a way he hadn't anticipated.

Later that night, after the guests had left, Jordan noticed the shift in Kylian's mood. "What's wrong?" she asked as they tidied up.

"Nothing," Kylian replied, but his voice was tight.

Jordan raised an eyebrow. "Come on, I know something's bothering you. Was it something Michael said?"

Kylian hesitated, then sighed. "It's just... I didn't like the way he was talking about you. Like he knows you better than I do."

Jordan softened, realizing where his jealousy was coming from. She stepped closer, wrapping her arms around his waist. "Kylian, he's just an old friend. Yes, we've grown closer because of work, but it's nothing more than that. You know you're the only one I love."

Kylian looked down at her, his eyes softening as he held her close. "I know, I trust you. It's just... hearing him talk about you like that—about your past—it got to me."

Jordan smiled, placing a hand on his cheek. "I'm not that person anymore. And even if I still have a wild side, it's only for you."

Kylian grinned, his jealousy easing as he pulled her into a deep kiss. "Good, because I'm not sharing that with anyone."

"You know, I don't mind you spending time with Michael. I just want to make sure I'm not being too possessive."

Jordan laughed, brushing her hand through his hair. "You're not. It's natural to feel that way. But you have nothing to worry about. You're my husband, and that's not going to change."

Kylian nodded, satisfied with her reassurance. "Good. Because I don't want to lose you to some lawyer who can't even score a goal."

Jordan burst out laughing, swatting his arm. "Trust me, no lawyer can compete with a football star."
