As the first century of the Targaryen dynasty came to a close, the health of the Old King, Jaehaerys, was failing.

The largest castle in the Seven Kingdoms was nearly destroyed in Aegon's Conquest. On most days, this place is a haunted memory of the might of the Targaryen dragons. But not today.

In those days, House Targaryen
stood at the height of its strength, with ten adult dragons under its yoke. No power in the world could stand against it.

King Jaehaerys reigned over nearly
sixty years of peace and prosperity. But tragedy had claimed his sons and heirs, leaving his succession in doubt. So, in the year 101, the Old King called a Great Council to choose his heir.

Over a thousand lords made the journey to Harrenhal...

Fourteen succession claims were
heard. But only two were indeed considered:

Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, the
King's eldest descendent and her younger cousin, Prince Viserys Targaryen, the king's eldest male descendent. But overall, the king felt that the person who should take his place was the one that he loved the most, Princess Davina, As she resembled everything the Targaryen should be

But overall, Davina rejected the Iron Throne, and she would live to see that she made the right decision

The archmaesters place the chest down on the table and open the latch. The Old King reaches inside, where the vote results are written on a square of parchment and secured with the wax seal of the citadel. Jaehaerys breaks the seal and reads the result. He looks up to face all the lords of the Seven Kingdoms.

The vote was said to have been
twenty-to-one. Rhaenys, a woman, would not inherit the Iron Throne. The lords instead chose Viserys.  My uncle.

The Old King, Jaehaerys, exhales. This heavy burden has, at last, been lifted. The realm has spoken as one.

Jaehaerys called the Great Council to ensure his succession was conferred in peace. For he knew the cold truth:

The only thing that could tear down the House of the Dragon was itself.

At last, King Jaehaerys shuts his eyes.

He regretted that he would never see Davina on the throne or see what she would achieve without her husband and children, But he knew deep down she was the future of the Targaryen

Davina Dragonstone

Throughout my life, I have witnessed the destruction of my home because of the iron throne. I know that, ultimately, my family will suffer the consequences. However, I refuse to let my children and I go down with them. This is why my children are getting their dragons for the first time.

I made a conscious decision when my four oldest children's dragon eggs didn't catch that they were made to Bond with a dragon, which is why we've come to Dragonstone to claim a dragon that is meant to be.

I knew this was risky, but I had to make this decision. They are the future of the Targaryens and Martell, so they needed to be prepared for whatever came to protect their home. His time had come, and his four eldest children showed more signs of the dragon's blood than anything else, which is why, deep down inside, I knew this would work.

As I was to see my children Visenya Martell, Baelon Martell, Saera Martell and Jaehaerys Martell, I knew deep down that they would be an unstoppable force.

"Mother, what are we supposed to do? How long are we supposed to find them? " my youngest son of the four Jaehaerys said

I turned to my children and smiled. "You feel it. You know deep down that you're supposed to be here. Let your mind go and follow your instincts. They will lead you to the right place. I believe in all of you, "I said to my children
