Beach Day- Part 2

Part two here! Really sorry for the long wait, again there was a lot going on.... But on the bright side, my birthday's coming up soon, so maybe we can get this part to five upvotes before August 15 (my birthday) and I can do a "meet-the-author" or another book you guys wanna see?

I let out a gasp, of both surprise and fear, as I watched it eat the tinier shark I'd been petting just moments before.

"What the !@ 🎩#$ was that?!" I cried as Jax held me, waiting for the shark to attack again. "That, darling, was a Megalodon." He replied, his hands gripping my waist tightly.

"How?! Aren't they extinct?!" I responded, shaking slightly. Jax seemed like he was about to say something, when the Megalodon turned to look at us with its large yet beady eyes.

It swam forward, and opened its mouth, ready to swallow us whole, and Jax shoved me out of the way, swimming as fast as he could and just barely managing to get us out of the way.

"Y/n!" Jax said urgently, his eyes shining slightly. "Get on its back and grab the fin!"

"What?! Are you crazy?!"

"Just trust me!!!"

I hesitated, then started kicking, making my way towards the giant shark's back, Jax quickly following me. I swam forward, grabbed the fin, and held on tight as Jax's hand closed around my ankle, pulling himself up and holding on to the fin as well.

The shark thrashed for a minute, trying to dislodge us, but we didn't move, and after a while, it stopped, possibly trying to check if we were still on it.

Eventually, it started diving down, and Jax released his grip, so I did the same. We swam back to land, only to moments later reappear in the main room, back in our normal... clothes? Bodies? Avatars?

"Heeeeeello again, my unripe turnips!" Caine exclaimed, cheerful as always. "Did you have fun on your adventure which I finally came up with a name for? IIIIIII sure hope so! Woah, Jax, Y/n, you two look..." he paused, probably thinking of a way to describe us.

"I'll be nice and say you look absolutely dreadful. What happened?"

"Your shark happened, Caine." Jax replied snappily, glaring up at the overenthusiastic ringmaster.

Caine gasped, looking.. uh.. I don't even know. "Did you really just call Mr. Fluffers a shark?! He's not a shark, he's a good little fish!!!"

"Good little fish??" I echoed, confused and a bit concerned. "Mr. Fluffers tried to eat us!"

Caine didn't respond for a second, and his eyeballs started drifting apart. Everyone watched in concern as he just floated there, unmoving, until Bubble finally broke the silence. "Pomni and Ragatha are dating!"

Ragatha blushed, and Pomni hid behind her, completely red. "N-no we're not!!!" She squeaked, and Ragatha laughed nervously. "Y-yeah, you guys know, I'm not interested in romance, a-and me and Pomni are just- really, uh.. close?"

I sighed. "I've been here for the shortest amount of time out of all of you and even I can tell there's more. Heck, even today, before the adventure started, you called Pomni 'hun'. That's not something a person with a completely platonic relationship would say to their friend."

"O-ok, so maybe we're... closer than... usual.. but that's it!" Ragatha cried, blushing as Pomni squeezed her tightly.

"Sure you are, redhead." Jax scoffed, rolling his eyes. "You two have been more obvious that you like each other than it is that Caine is an idiot!"

"Hey!" Caine growled, offended, but Jax just shrugged it off and replied, "Shut up Caine."

Pomni hesitated, thinking, before whispering to Ragatha, "I mean... they're not that far off..."

Ragatha glanced at her in surprise. "Are you sure you feel comfortable with them knowing? I-I mean, it only happened recently...."

"I think I'm ready."

"Alright then, if you're completely sure..."

Everyone watched them in silence, waiting, until Ragatha finally turned to them all. "Alright, yes, fine, me and Pomni are dating."
