ONCE THE SSR LANDED in England they were placed among the 107th. Which partly was the sole reason why Marie wanted to come to England so bad.
After walking into camp she saw the tall frame of her brother. "Bucky!" She yelled as he turned around with a smile. She ran up to her older brother as he engulfed her into a hug.
"Theres my favorite girl" he greeted his little sister as she smiled up at him. "What are you doing in England?" He asked as he glanced behind her seeing Howard and Peggy. "The SSR is being relocated to England for Hydra" she answered Bucky nodded his head.
"I heard about Steve, getting the serum" he brought up as she smiled and nodded her head. "Yeah, im not sure where he's at actually" she responded as he looked down to his little sister.
Her eyes twinkling with pride as she thought about the serum, and being one of the only two females in the SSR. "Im so proud of you Marie, i hope you know that" Bucky praised his little sister as she smiled up at him.
"Thank you Bucky" she thanked his as he squeezed her shoulder. "I gotta get back with Peg, but I'll see you around okay?" She informed her brother as he nodded his head and gave her one last side hug.
THE 107TH INFANTRY was sent to the Alps and were up against Hydra, Johann Schmidt. Which hearing about Hydra had Marie worried sick to her stomach.
She knew Hydra had weapons that the world has never seen before. With the technology they possessed she knew Hydra was an organization that everyone should fear.
Her intuition was telling her something was going to happen. And she couldn't shake the worry that that she felt coursing through her body.
Peggy was assuring her it was going to be alright, and part of her mind was trying to tell her the same. She was over thinking it. And she knew it but the un easiness wouldn't abandon her. She couldnt loose Bucky, he was the one person who never laughed at her aspirations and dreams.
Even her parent's didnt believe she would ever be accepted into the SSR. But she proved them wrong, and the whole time Bucky was her support.
Watching his little sister succeeding in something she cared so deeply about.
And if she lost him to the war she couldn't rattle the feeling of grieving and guilt.
Marie was in the lab as she and Howard were working on creating a new line of weapons to fund the war. Howard was working on the wiring of the weapon at one of the desks.
She paced back in forth for nearly almost 5 minutes as Howard glanced at her from behind her shoulder.
"Everything okay?" He asked as she glanced up at him. "Yeah sorry." She apologized as she walked over to him. She leaned over his shoulder and saw what he was working on.
He swallowed thickly as he got a whiff of her floral perfume. "Whats this?" She inquired as he felt his heart rate quicken.
"I-its uh type of bomb, just a prototype." His voice stuttered as she nodded her head. Her mind was completely oblivious the how such a simple gesture affected him.
As she leaned back and walked away from him. Howard closed his eyes as he cringed at how his body reacted to Marie leaning over his shoulder.
Why did he feel so nervous? He felt like a boy having a crush on a girl back in elementary school. But now he was grown, so how did he feel like this towards a woman. Especially when he had such a deep rooted dislike for her.
He rubbed his temples as he tried to focus on creating this bomb. But Marie had made him loose his train of thought. He let out a exasperated sigh as his mind replayed the past event with Marie.
"Are you okay?" She called out to him as he nodded his head. "Just stressed thats all" he replied as she replied with a "mm" sound.
After spending countless hours in a lab with each other. Howard and Marie began to tell each other their past. Things they had never told anybody else. What they were doing before the war.
And Marie felt like she was starting to put trust in Howard.
And thats a thought she would have never imagined from the past few years with him.
