The alpha- Riki- seemed to understand that Jungwon was being serious and looked around the shop. His eyes lit up with interest and he snapped his fingers in Jake’s general direction.

“Hey, you!” Riki ordered. Jake straightened up immediately like he had been caught stealing, dropping the boxes of condoms on the ground to show off his empty hands. “Go put up the closed sign on the door.”

“Yes sir.” Jake said even though he had never met this guy before, obediently trotting over to listen to him.

Heeseung looked disturbed by the sight and stepped over the boxes of condoms on the ground to join Sunoo and Jungwon at the counter.

“What do you want?” Riki pressed again, drumming his nails on the counter as if to speed up the interaction.

Jungwon reached over and grabbed Sunoo by the shoulders, manhandling him to the front and making him squeak.

“This is my friend Sunoo.” Jungwon said and, on cue, Sunoo smiled politely. “And he needs your help.”

Sunoo braced himself for Riki’s snark to be directed at him, but was surprised at the reception he got. The alpha was speechless as he stared, eyebrows climbing up his forehead like he couldn’t believe his eyes.

“…hi.” Sunoo said belatedly. “It’s nice to meet you!”

“You need my help?” Riki finally asked, and Sunoo gave an eager nod. “Shit. Why didn’t you say so before? I’d love to help you!”

“You didn’t want to help me?” Jungwon looked hurt, but Riki seemed to see right through him.

“I hate doing business with you.” He snapped at the omega who let out an offended gasp. “You’re so annoying!”

“I like you, kid.” Heeseung nodded approvingly at Riki.

His words made Riki frown and straighten up.

“Your boyfriend is fighting a losing battle with the door.” Riki told Heeseung, pointing with his chin at where Jake couldn’t figure out the closed sign. "“Might wanna go help him.”

“He’s not my boyfriend-.” Heeseung tried to defend himself and then decided it wasn’t worth it, leaving to go help Jake with a grumble.

“Hey, wanna leave too so I can be alone with your friend?” Riki suggested to Jungwon, winking playfully at Sunoo and making him smile. “Patient confidentiality and all.”

It was a fitting metaphor, since Sunoo did feel like Jungwon was his mother accompanying him to a doctor’s appointment and speaking on his behalf.

“Absolutely not.” Jungwon said firmly. “I’m not leaving Sunoo alone with you.”

“You’re smarter than you look. I’ll give you that, Yang.” Riki shrugged. “What do you need me to do?”

Jungwon gently nudged Sunoo who cleared his throat before speaking.

“I need you to help me get a letter back.” Sunoo looked up at Riki through his lashes. “Please Riki-ssi?”

Riki looked visibly torn, hesitating before answering.

“I can’t do that.” Riki finally said. “Mail’s outta my jurisdiction. I’m really sorry, I wish I could help.”

“It’s out of your jurisdiction?” Jungwon repeated in disbelief. “I thought this entire campus was under your control!”

“I just say that to sound cool!” Riki whined. “Look, is there anything else I can do to help? I can sell you some drugs? Or weapons? Ooh, or I could arrange a hit on someone? Does any of that sound good?”
