Aakriti's POV
Next morning
Sleeping on the floor is not a big thing but I am a person who can't sleep without a pillow and blanket and last night I was deprived of both. Thus, I couldn't sleep properly and my whole body is aching.
I went to the washroom and got ready in a red saree and went down for my first rasoi and saw Naina aunty and Suchitra Aunty in the kitchen
"Good morning, aunty" I said while looking at them and bent down to touch their feet while Naina aunty stopped me
"We will pull your ears if you do all this from next time" Suchitra Aunty said while both of them were playfully glaring at me
" And also who is aunty? She is your badi maa and I am your maa, understood?" She said and I got emotional hearing them both and hugged them tightly
"Ok maa and badi maa"
"Now today is your first rasoi so you can either prepare whatever you want for breakfast or you can just make a sweet dish and we will take care of rest" badi maa said
"No badi maa... I will make all the breakfast for everyone" I assured them
"Okay so we will help you" maa said
"Maa.. don't you trust me enough?" I said in my most innocent voice
"I do, beta. But..... " Maa said
" No buts, maa I will manage everything"
After a lot of convincing they both agreed and left the kitchen after telling me about the arrangement of all the ingredients
After one and half hour, everything was prepared. I prepared Dal makhni, Kadhaai Paneer, Chapatis, Moong dal halwa and salad and I was serving the food
I heard a loud booming voice behind me, "What the hell are you doing in the kitchen? "
" I am doing ramp walk" I retorted sarcastically which agitated him more
" Get out of the kitchen at this instant" he ordered
" And who are you to order me around? " I asked him
" This is my house" he replied back
"And hers too"
We both turned back and saw maa and badi maa on the entrance of kitchen
"Abhay, Is this the way to talk to your wife?" Badi maa asked him with a hint of anger
"Abhay, we have not taught you this. And what were you saying... Your house? This is her home too and she has every right to do whatever she wants and you can't change that, understood? " Maa said to him with a slightly raised voice and he looked at me angrily before stomping out of the kitchen.
" Don't mind his words baccha. This is your family. Okay?" Maa said to me lovingly while I nodded my head positively
"You have prepared all this?" Badi maa asked me surprisingly
"Ji badi maa" I replied
"It all really looks so delicious" she said while chuckling and I smiled back and we took the dishes towards the dining table
Everyone was seated on dining table except him and a few minutes later I saw him descending the stairs in his office attire
"Abhay, where are you going. Have your breakfast first?" Papa asked him
" Papa,I would rather starve than having the food made by her" he said while looking at me with hatred
" She is your wife, Abhay... Talk to her with respect" papa said furiously
" She is not my wife. I will never accept her as my wife" he screamed
" Abhay either you will have your breakfast quietly or don't talk to me ever" badi maa said and he stopped in his track and angrily sat with us
I stared to serve the food but Papa interrupted me," Beta, you don't need to do this. Everyone will help themselves with the food. You sit and have your meal"
"Papa, I am not doing it out of compulsion but I really want to serve everyone... Please Papa... Just for today" he nodded his head at my request while smiling
I served everyone except him while everyone looked at me
" I am really sorry but I can't serve him as as he was not ready to eat the food made by me so I would not serve him as he will have a problem with it too"
My self respect matters to me the most and l can't let him walk all over me as if I am a doormat. Everyone looked at me with pride except one person who was shooting daggers at me but I didn't bother myself much.
