The (rut) cycle (shinsoukoku)

Chapter 23

(This happens before all the canon or atleast most of the canon Fyodor events. I didn't watch the 5th season of bsd and only know about some of the pages of the manga from tiktok, so I don't know a lot about the decay of angels and stuff. So everything what happens with Fyodor in this chapter on has nothing to do with what happened or will happen in the canon.)

The first letter arrives on a cold night. Akutagawa came home when he saw the postman.

It was weird because postmen never came to his house for secrecy reasons so the letter raised suspicion. He walks up to the man and asks for the letter and is even more surprised when the letter is assigned to him. That means that the postman meant to come here and it wasn't an accident.

"Thank you" He says and walks into his house with the letter in his hand.

He takes his jacket off and sits down on the couch. Gin isn't home, so he's alone.

The diablo looks at the letter from all sides and smiles when he sees a tiny heart near his name.

He already knows who it's from. He doesn't waste any more seconds to open it.

My dear Ryuu,

Every day I miss you and I don't know how long I will be able to live without you. But I promise to try.
It's pretty cold over in Russia. I managed to escape on a boat and am on a search for someone. I don't think you know him though.

I plan on joining him.

But anyways, how are you, my love? You don't need to reply, I know you probably still hate me a little bit. But I hope, with time, you will love me. Just like I love you.
I hope that once we meet again, we will be happy... together.

I'm starting to heal already. The bullet that hit me was the same one I used on Chuuya; the anti-ability bullet. Without you, I would've died.

You saved my life. Thank you. Now, I can still have hope that one day we will be able to live together. To love each other.

I hope that Gin, Chuuya and Dazai help you, until we find each other again. I'm sorry I made you think your sister was dead. I know you will probably not forgive me, not for a long time, but know I never intended on killing anyone close to you. I never wanted to take away people that also make you happy.

My true goal is to make you mine. Only mine. But I know it will take time. I don't want you to hate me either, so I kept them alive. Only for you.

I love you, Ryuu. More than anyone could possibly imagine.

Atsushi Nakajima

Akutagawa tightens his hands on the paper and rereads the letter 2 more times. Atsushi was so confusing at times. Why was he writing letters to him? Saying he was in Russia... does Atsushi not know what Akutagawa could do with that information?

Or did the weretiger already know Akutagawa was not going to tell anyone about it, nor the letters?

The diablo folds the letter in a fwe parts and hides it in his pocket. He doesn't want to burn them. He knows it's the only reminder he'll have of Atsushi for a very long time.

„Ryuu, I'm home!" He hears his sister yell and stands up. He walks over to her and smiles.

Maybe waiting for Atsushi won't be that hard, now that he knows they will definitely meet again. And he still has people like Gin to care for... And who knows, maybe he will try to repair his relationship with Kyoka too?

A few weeks pass and the diablo is back on his mission. Him and Chuuya were spying on one of the criminals.
