A/N: Thanks as always to my buddy qazse for help with reactions and my brother Sai for the script and making the video, "The Incendiary Arachnids! Rakna-Kadaki Lore" by Sai Blade.
Sai chuckled as he finished writing something, based on the scribbling sound. "There! That's the last of the schedule. Tomorrow is going to be a perfectly planned Mother's Day." He said excitedly as it was revealed he was standing at the other end of the table from the Commander, with the Huntsman off to the side.
Many of the cast gained warm smiles as they heard Sai's plan to celebrate Mother's Day. "Aww, that's so sweet!" Ruby cooed, happy to see the fire demon still thought of and cared for his mother.
"Indeed. Some of my fondest memories are spending time with my mother." Pyrrha said.
"Yeah. It's nice to see he has a softer side sometimes." Blake admitted.
The two older men were confused at this. "Um, Sai? You know that Mother's Day was LAST MONTH, right?" He reminded the Sapphire Star from his position on a nearby barrel.
However, they were all soon flabbergasted after the Huntsman revealed Mother's Day was a month ago. "What?! How does someone celebrate a holiday an ENTIRE MONTH late?!" Weiss asked incredulously.
"To be fair, we have seen that the Commander constantly overworks him to the point of high blood pressure and heart attacks. Maybe he was busy that whole month?" Ren offered.
"Oh, yeah. All those late nights plotting heists, I lost track of the day and date so many times. Made it real hard to call the folks on special days... Well, that and they stopped answering after I got a rap sheet." Roman said.
The fire demon then turned to his elder. "Yes, I am aware of that, Master. But as you are probably aware, I'm here in the New World, but my mother isn't. She's back in the Old World. Kind of hard to celebrate a holiday with someone when you're in two different continents." He confirmed with a clear hint of annoyance in his voice. "That's why I said tomorrow, when the Argosy takes me back to the Old World for a few days." The dual blades-user elaborated in a much happier tone.
"Well, Weiss, there's your answer." Yang said with a smirk.
"Gotta say, as far as excuses go, that's a pretty good one." Neo agreed.
"Definitely one of the hardest parts of going to school in Atlas was being away from my parents." Ilia said, tearing up a bit, before being hugged by Emerald and Blake.
"Don't think about what you lost. Instead, remember what you had. Focus on the good times with them." Emerald told her.
The Commander shrugged in consideration at this. "Eh. Fair enough. So, what have you got planned, if you don't mind me asking?" The leader of Astera asked with curiosity in his voice.
Sai started clapping excitedly at this. "Oh, goodie! I'm glad you asked. Well, first, I plan on taking her to the botanical gardens near where we live so she can see all the beautiful kinds of flowers she loves, then take a trip to the local aviary to see all the pretty birds she loves. After that, we take a break for a nice lunch, then we go for a few rounds of bowling. A nice dinner after that and we finish the night with a marathon of sci-fi movies." The host explained his master plan.
"Ooh, that all sounds awesome!" Nora said, eager at the thought of dominating her teammates in bowling.
"Yeah. That all sounds like things MY mother would like, too." Jaune agreed.
