Lily Rose

A year had passed since the night on the balcony, and life had settled into a peaceful rhythm. Many things have changed in a year, Zaeden and I had bought a cosy home away from prying eyes, a sanctuary where we could build our future.

I had returned to my role as Zaeden's secretary, balancing work with helping Sam and Ken manage the business. Sam was still under training to get into missions. Ken was playing the game and I was playing the game behind screens.

Things got normal, Chris lived with his family and visited us when he had free time. We went on lunch dates with families every month. Zaeden and I got closer and closer and we became inseparable.

Our mornings were filled with quiet moments—Zaeden's laughter over breakfast and his touch's warmth as he kissed me goodbye before heading to the office. Evenings were spent in our garden, where we dreamed of the future and whispered promises under the stars.

Our lives were getting normal, every catfight between us turned into fucking every space in the house. Every little mistake turned into spicy, it was a long journey to get peace and a little sex.

But lately, something has changed. I felt a constant fatigue, a sickness that wouldn't go away. I was feeling dizzy and my back ached a lot.  Zaeden noticed, his eyes filled with concern. "Lily," he said one morning, his hand on my forehead, "you're burning up. You need to see a doctor. Come on Let's go today."

I shook my head. " Zaeden you need to go to the office today, you have a meeting today and you need to attend that." The worry gnawing at me. "I'll go today," I promised.

After having breakfast together Zaeden left for the office and I got ready for the hospital. I was feeling a bit conscious about this. I had a feeling that something was wrong with me or that today would be a day of surprises for me.

The hospital was a sterile maze of white walls and antiseptic smells. I sat in the waiting room, my heart pounding. When the doctor finally called me in, I felt a mix of relief and dread.

Dr. Patel, a kind-faced woman with gentle eyes, examined me thoroughly. "Lily," she said, her voice calm, "we need to run some tests."

I nodded, my throat dry. "Is it serious?"

She smiled reassuringly. "Let's find out."

This felt like ages. Every passing minute felt like a nightmare to me. Her hands were working taking notes on every moment of mine. Asking me questions about how lately I've been feeling.

The tests seemed to take forever, each minute stretching into an eternity. Finally, Dr. Patel returned, her expression unreadable. She was sitting behind her computer looking at what might be my test. Her glasses are on her nose.

Her expressions were unreadable and the more she went on my anxiety started gripping in. Her voice boomed making me startled. "Lily," she said, her voice calm and normal which made nerves in relief.

 "you're pregnant."

The words hung in the air, surreal and overwhelming. "Pregnant?" I echoed, my hand instinctively moving to my stomach. I looked down at my stomach, a smile on my face as my chest blooms with happiness. This was surreal more to be known at exact.

She nodded. "About three weeks along. Congratulations."

A rush of emotions flooded me—joy, fear, excitement, and uncertainty. "Thank you," I whispered, my mind racing. I stood up took the report and walked out of the hospital.
