CHAPTER 31: HUNT

Someone's POV

Outside the castle, the guards scattered to find Jokna. They go from house to house and ask people rudely in their voices.

Jokna received the news that the head was searching for him. He was aware.

It takes a whole day for the guards to ask if they know who Jokna Hearne is. Until they find Jokna's father. Far away from the castle, near the well, and among the acacia trees, there is a house made out of cobblestone. One of the guards approached the house.

Yno was the name of Jokna's father.

"Do you know who's Jokna Hearne?" said the guards to Yno. His eyes widened and he knew that Jokna was in big trouble, and he knew about the letter that Jokna showed to him.

"Uhh... I don't know who that is..."  said Yno, he was sweating, his hands were shaking, and he worried about his son.

Yno was the last person that was asked by the guards. None of the people knew who Jokna was. Nobody cares about the situation and the hunt for Jokna. The people must be afraid to speak up, and so does Jokna's father.

The guards reported to the head. He was frustrated that none of the people knew who was Jokna Hearne. He raged and yelled at the guards. The head ordered that all the pregnant women should be killed specifically if their child is a boy. Maybe the head ordered that because Jokna was a boy.

The next morning, the guards searched for women who were pregnant with a boy.

But none of the people were pregnant at all.

The guards reported it to the head, and he was frustrated again.

Not until the head decides to set a trap. The head offered 200 Silver whoever can find Jokna Hearne. That offer spread throughout the whole nation. The people were crazy about the price of money, so they started to hunt for Jokna Hearne.

Yno got the news about the price, it was a big amount of money. He was so greedy that he thought of bringing his son to the head. Jokna didn't go outside of their home for 3 days straight after he knew he was in hunted by the king.

Yno wanna get the prize money so he takes a risk, to give up his son for the sake of the money. 200 Silver is too much at that time.

Yno knows he can't bring his son to the castle so he will bring the guards to his house to get Jokna. He rushed to the castle, and shouting he knew where Jokna was.

"I knew where is Jokna!" "He's my son!" "Come with me!"

"Are you lying with us?" said one of the guards.

"No, It's true, he's my son!"

"You said you didn't know Jokna Hearne?"

"I am Yno Hearne, come and see that he's in my house!"

The guards come with Yano.

When they reached the house, Jokna heard horses running.

Yno opened the door widely for the guards to enter, he was proud.

"My son is upstairs!"

The guards rushed upstairs, They found Jokna standing.

"You're Jokna Hearne?" said one of the guards.

They don't wait for Jokna to speak and they hold him.

"No! Let me go! FATHER! YOU BETRAYED ME!" said Jokna who was weak while the guards held his both arms with strength. He kept screaming at his father.

Yno was just standing and you couldn't see any regrets in his eyes.

"Father! You Betrayed me!" that was the guard knew that Jokna was his son.

The guards returned to the castle and brought Jokna to the head. Jokna's father stayed home, he didn't feel any guilt about his son and focused on the prize money.

When the head saw Jokna, he slapped Jokna with his whole right-hand strength, he was angry at what Jokna did.

"You're a kid? yet you didn't obey any of my rules. You know nothing in this world kid!" he slapped Jokna again.

Jokna was too stunned to speak. Her cheeks were turning scarlet.

"How dare you make an against of me, you have no respect for Your Highness!?"  said the head.

"You're no king for me, Enoch,"  said Jokna, he spitted to the head's shoes.

The head was shocked to hear those six words that Jokna said.

"Guards! Put Jokna Hearne in Execution with Mary!" the head shouted that the veins in his neck were visible from the skin.
