"Hector? Are you in there?" Quirin calls.
I ignore him. I've been through enough today. First, the witch shows up, and second the prophet tells me of my death. I hear another knock on the door. I ignore it. I just need time to collect my thoughts.
"Hector? Are you okay in there?" Rapunzel asks.
How okay do you think I am? Honestly.
"I brought you some cookies." Rapunzel calls.
Cookies? Really? I just learned I'm going to die, and you think cookies is a good idea?
"Come on Hector open the door, we just want to talk." King Edmund calls.
What if I don't want to talk to you?
"Nice room." Cece says.
I jump.
"How did you even get in here?" I ask.
She turns.
"You know what? Don't tell me." I turn.
"I'm sorry about everything." She says.
I ignore her.
"I'm sorry about Penelope." She says.
I strain at that word.
"You don't get to echo her name." I hiss.
"You're right. I'm sorry." She sits down next to me.
"I was so excited to go home, but when I got there-" I can't finish that sentence.
"I know." She lets out a breath.
She looks at my hand. She takes it. I let her.
