I look up. Pain flashes in my shoulder. He slides down the water. His tentacles slide around the boat. Crap. I thought I was in trouble with Ares, but this is ten times worse. We aren't even at the lair of Scylla.
"Took me a while to find you." He says.
I grab the trident. I try to pull it out. Blood spills from my mouth.
"In all my years of living, you really pissed me off." He says.
"Poseidon, it's been almost thirteen years." Cece walks forward.
"Silence!" He yells.
She bows respectfully.
"What is going on?" Rapunzel asks.
"I was so gracious, and this bastard hurt the son of mine." Poseidon roars.
He rips out the trident. He grabs my neck with his arm. His fingers feel as strong as steel. He lifts me up. He slams me into the ground. I wince. He throws me to the side. I slam into Quirin. Blood spills from my shoulder. Quirin grabs my shoulders.
"You've been lucky avoiding the sea. But now you're here, I got to finish my promise." He walks forward.
"Stop!" Rapunzel gets in front of me.
"Rapunzel... you do not want to stop him." I mutter.
"Yeah well, I'm not afraid." Rapunzel says.
Poseidon's face darkens.
"You are not afraid of a god? Me? God of the Oceans? Sinker of ships? Earth shaker?" He raises an eyebrow.
The waves slam into the ships. Cece almost slams into Adira. Pascal screams. Eugene almost screams. Rapunzel backs away. Poseidon grips his trident. He moves closer. His tenacles overlapping each other.
"Wrong words Rapunzel." Cece says.
"Well... I'm not not afraid of you. But I don't understand why you want to kill Hector?" Rapunzel asks.
"Believe... me... it's better to stay out of this." I mutter.
"It's simple. Ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves." Poseidon answers.
"Well... that clears that up." Eugene shrugs.
Poseidon slams his trident onto the ground. A wave shoots up and slams into Eugene.
"Never piss off a god." Cece glares at Eugene.
"Just stop. I'm sure he had his reasons." Rapunzel smiles.
"Reasons or not. All he had to do was kill him." Poseidon says.
"Kill who?" Rapunzel asks.
"You know... the cyclopes I made blind? Turns out... it... was..." I start.
"My son." Poseidon says.
"You wanted him to kill your own son?!" Rapunzel asks.
Poseidon throws his arm and Rapunzel gets thrown back. She slams into the deck shore.
"Enough of this stalling." Poseidon charges.
I know he's right. I've been running from this for far too long. He will not rest until he kills me. He will sink this ship and kill them all just like my own crew. Quirin draws out his sword. That will only get you killed. Sorry about this but it's time I pay for my sins. I push Quirin out of the way as Poseidon's trident impales my chest.
