His relief didn't last long. The walls around them began to  tremble, emitting a low, ominous groan as if the entire structure were about to collapse. The air was thick with dust and debris rained down from the ceiling. Cracks began snaked across the roof like creeping wines, sending chunks rubble falling, barely missing the pair. Due to Magnetos sudden loss of power the metal reinforcements that had once held the building together were undone, leaving the entire structure teetering on the edge of collapse.

Logans instincts screamed at him to move. He quickly stood, lifting the girl with him. Her body limp, her breathing shallow and ragged. As he cradled her, a cold sweat prickled his skin as he realized how fragile she felt against him, so close to the edge of death. There was no time to lose.

"I've got you (Y/n), hang in there" he muttered desperately, more to himself than her.

The walls shuddered violently, debris crashing down around them, the floor vibrating with an impending collapse. His teeth gritted, every muscle tensing as he held the girl tightly to his chest. He surged towards the platform, his boots pounding against the unstable ground, threatening to cave in at every step. As soon as his full weight greeted the platform, it began to rise, cracking under the strain. He could feel the structure buckling underneath him, their ascent feeling agonizingly slow.

Dust and debris clouded the air, making it nearly impossible to see, but Logan remained focus on saving her. The walls around them began to split, revealed sharp and uneven edges that threatened to collapse inward. As more cracks snaked upward, chunks of the walls broke loose, tumbling down into the darkness below. A large beam snapped from above, plummeting down towards the two before Logan narrowly stepped out of the way, sending it crashing below them.

He growled, his eyes narrowing, looking for any danger that would interrupt their break away to safety. The creaking and groaning of the building grew louder, almost deafening. He tightened his grip on the girl, trying his best to shield her from the falling debris. The platform inched its way upwards, but the building was breaking faster.

A massive chunk of the ceiling gave way, raining down on the two. He quickly shifted his stance, his sole focus on protecting the girl in his arms at all cost. As the debris fell closer, threatening to crush them both, the platform surged upwards, narrowly avoiding the deadly collapse. As it crashed down, shattering and sending rippling shockwaves through the structure.

He quickly stepped off, his feet meeting a ground feeling more brittle than before. The mirrors the lined the walls were shattered, the shards of the reflective surface littering the floor. A thunderous boom echoed from behind them, the entire platform giving way plunging downwards into the dark abyss below. The floor surrounding it followed suit, cascading down in a chaotic collapse that swallowed the room in darkness

Logan didn't hesitate. He bolted, leaving the wreckage of the rooms behind him. He held the girl closely to his chest, her fragile form a constant reminder to what was at stake. As he raced down he never-ending hallway, the walls behind him crashed down, the flooring beneath his feet beginning to crumble under the intense weight. His grip on her tightened once more, his determination unwavering as he weaved around the debris that had once blocked his path, and the rubble that refused to let him leave.

The hallway seemed endless, each step feeling more perilous than the last as the structure continued to crumble around them. The floor began sag, creating a steep incline that made running increasingly more difficult. Logans muscles burned with effort, but he pushed on through the pain.

"Come on, come on" he urged himself to continue, his voice barely audible over the sound of collapsing walls and shattering debris. He would not stop, he couldn't afford it, not with her life teetering within inches of death.

Panicked voices sounded from above. The structure continuing to decay behind them, threatening to take them under. The exit was finally in sight, but the cracks in the ceiling were spreading rapidly, racing towards them with a speed that felt impossible to outrun.

Logan forced himself to move faster, his grip on her tightening as he charged forwards towards safety, refusing to let them get buried under the ruble. The faint glimmer of daylight began to shine down on them as he pushed himself up the steps of the large ramp, now just feet from freedom. His heart pounded in sync with the tremors behind him, the sounds of destruction echoing through the collapsing underground structure.

Finally, he stood in the clearing, the remnant's of the lair caving in behind him. He paused, catching his breath, dust and debris clinging to his hair and his clothes, His body bore marks from the battle, dried blood from the blows he had unknowingly took, but the girl in his arms remained unscathed, despite the painful marks that remained from the chains. He looked down towards her, her breath still shallow, but relief washed over him, knowing that she was safe.

"Logan!" a worried voice announced, snapping him back to the present. He instinctively tense,  tightening his grip on her. He darted his eyes upwards to see Storm and Cyclops running towards them.

"Are you alright?" Storm asked, her gaze shifting from the debris and blood covering him to the girl in his arms. Panic laced her voice as she asked, "Is she alright?!"

"We're fine" he breathed, his voice weary but steady. His eyes however, flared with anger as he asked, "Where's Magneto?"

"We took care of him and got the amulet, "Storm explained with a firm nod, "It'll be safe now that it's in our hands"

"Let me take her, she needs to get checked out," Scott urged, stepping closer with concern in his eyes. But Logan's protective instincts flared, and he shot Scott an intense glare.

"I'm not letting her go," he growled, his tone brooking no argument as he turned and marched toward the jet, the determination in his stride unyielding.

Scott pursed his lips, exchanging a resigned shrug with Storm. With a shared understanding, they followed behind, heading back to the jet and their return home.
