"Even if we were to get him alone, none of us would stand a chance against his power," Lloyd stated with a look of disappointment as he held his chin between his pointer finger and thumb.
He and the other members of the Resistance had been brainstorming all day to try and come up with a plan of attack against his father, but no matter what they had come up with, it wouldn't work. They simply didn't have the manpower, or complete enough knowledge about the Sons of Garmadon's patrol forces in Borg Tower. Surely Harumi and Lord Garmadon had increased security since their break-in yesterday, so all of the previous knowledge they had on the tower was now useless.
"Then we keep thinking until there's a plan that works." Nya sounded irritated, and Lloyd couldn't say that he blamed her. They were getting nowhere, and at this point, they were all starting to get tired as well. The sun had set some time ago. Maybe it would be best if they all rested soon and tried to pick things back up in the morning...
"Well, while you guys keep brainstorming, I'm gonna go see if I can scrounge up some grub!" Dareth spoke up, his stomach growling loudly and only supporting the idea.
"Yeah, sure thing Dareth," The Green Ninja replied somewhat dismissively, not even sparing the man a glance as he stood up.
As Dareth opened the metal door of the garbage depot, he froze. It was late, and the last thing he would have expected was for them to have company-let alone Harumi and the Sons of Garmadon! Dareth's jaw dropped, as he blinked his eyes to make sure he wasn't imagining the group of people in front of him.
"Hello mate," The large orange clothed man next to the Jade Princess greeted, as he waved his hand.
"Uhh... would you all excuse me for just a minute?" Dareth asked nervously before slamming the door shut and hitting his back up against it. "THE SONS OF GARMADON ARE HERE!!!" His cry caused the rest of the Elemental Masters and the other members of the Resistance quickly jumped up from their chairs at the long wooden table they had been seated at all day, and as everyone scrambled to take up their fighting positions,
The Master of Water looked over to Skylor. "An ambush? How did they even know where to find us?"
"The garbage trucks. Harumi must have caught a glimpse of them when we were escaping Borg Tower!" The Master of Amber pieced together.
"Everyone! Get ready for a fight!" Lloyd ordered, earning him nods of acknowledgement from everyone else.
Without another word, Diana frowned when she saw the police trucks that usually carried out arrested people. She flinched, understanding the situation at hand. They're going to arrest them and dump the Resistance to the Kryptarium Prison. Nope! Not happening on her watch.
Diana quickly rejoined the others and placed both her hands onto the floor. "Everyone! Touch the floor! NOW!"
Doing what she ordered, Lloyd looked at his new crush. "Diana. What are you going to do?"
"You're about to find out mate." At Diana's words, her hands started glowing brightly. Lloyd could have sworn he felt the magical energy in the air. And at that moment, a massive and blinding flash of light had entered the room from Diana.
Metal splintered everywhere onto the floor of the garbage depot and Killow finally managed to break the door down. As Harumi and several other Sons of Garmadon charged into the room though, Lloyd and his friends were nowhere to be found. As the princess continued to study the room, she noticed that all of the Resistance's supplies had disappeared too. Harumi growled in frustration as she clenched her fists in anger. No! NO! NO! NO!!! Lloyd had gotten away from her again! In a flash of fire and smoke, a portal opened before them. Colors swirled around them — black, red, blue, teal, white, green, and purple. Images from mythic realms of the otherworld passed by everyone's eyes. Flying dragons, great birds, past Elemental Masters, the First Spinjitzu Master, the first Elemental Masters, brave lions, elegant phoenixes, great octopuses, great gorillas, wolf shadows all flew by, both ghostly and real at the same time.
But luck wasn't on their side, another strike of light has hit near them within the portal. "Ahh!" They tried to cover their eyes, but it was too late; they were momentarily blinded. Everyone's sight was starting to come back, but everything was still fuzzy.
Once they recovered from the flash of light, the Resistance were all stunned to see that they were in a new warehouse. All of their supplies have been placed in the warehouse. Lloyd soon remembered that Diana was a Dragon hybrid and is the Master of Magic. She must of risked her own life to teleport the members of the Resistance out of their old hideout and into a new one.
"Diana!" Lloyd searched for her worriedly.
"She's over here!" called out Shade, clearly worried about his new friend.
Lloyd pushed through his circle of friends, the rest of them stepped back to reveal Lloyd's new crush. He gasped and tears prickled at the corner of his eyes when he spotted her. Diana laid on the floor, clearly knocked unconscious from her earlier teleportation.
"I-Is she okay?" Lloyd choked back on a sob at the sight of her.
Mystake placed a gentle hand on Diana's forehead. "She's okay. She's just knocked out from sharing her Elemental Power with us."
Sensei Garmadon gently picked her up. "I'll place her in one of the spare rooms."
Her skin felt ice cold. Her body shivered and trembled uncontrollably as she felt herself sink deeper and deeper into the dark hole, the surface far from her reach. She could barely breathe and when she tried her chest felt like it was on fire. Her last breath escaped her mouth and the faint, distant echoing of voices faded as the cold darkness consumed her.
When Diana woke up, her body was no longer cold. The sun's rays warmed her skin. She sat upright, eyes squinting until she adjusted to the light. Her bed was right next to a window with the curtains pulled back showing a lovely dawn. Several cabinets were on opposite sides of the room, with a top one open to reveal various herbs and spices with writing on them. Why was she here? Where was she at? Why couldn't she remember about being here? What happened to the Resistance? With every question, her head felt foggy, as though something was trying to make its way to the forefront of her mind. It hurt, trying to remember. It was then she remembered what happened. She used her Elemental Power to bring the Resistance to the secret, but used to be empty warehouse to keep everyone safe.
Her hands formed into fists ready to strike whoever dared to intrude upon her. She relaxed when she saw a familiar and yet elderly woman. But as she gazed at her, she was stunned to recognize her. The woman was none other than Mystake.
"M-Mystake?" whispered Diana.
Mystake smiled at Diana warmly. "That's right my dear. You've always been the spirited one."
"Where am I?" Diana asked warily.
"You've placed the Resistance in a new warehouse," Mystake replied. "You must be starving." Mystake offered her a smile. "I'll bring you some soup. You're in luck, Misako has made some chicken noodle soup. You're going to love it." Mystake stood up, giving her hand one more squeeze before racing out of the room.
Diana soon relaxed once she saw Mystake coming into the room with a steaming bowl. "Sorry if I took so long." Diana nodded and gently pulled her meal closer to herself. Picking up her soup, she spooned a mouthful into her mouth, chewing it slowly. As soon as she swallowed the first bite, her body practically cried out in relief. Diana bent over her bowl, stirring the soup and inhaling its warm, fragrant steam. Her goosebumps flattened out, and she felt much warmer as she ate and drank the broth. She soon returned her empty bowl to Mystake.
"Diana!" The mentioned girl's head perked up to see the rest of the Resistance.
"It's great to see you all again." At her words, a good deal of Diana's friends had took turns hugging her and revealed their relief at the sight of the Purple Ninja.
"Oh Diana." Sensei Garmadon gently hugged Diana, in which she returns with a warm smile. "I'm so glad you're okay."
She was suddenly tackled back onto the bed by a blur of green, wheezing as the wind got knocked out of her. She looked down to see Lloyd clinging onto her as if she'd die if he lets go, his eyes squeezed shut. Diana pushed herself back up before yanking Lloyd into a proper hug. Lloyd wrapped his arms around Diana and squeezed her tightly. She felt his arms wrap around her. She shut her eyes and let her whole body relax into the hug. A silent sob escaped from him. Warm tears were sliding her face too.
"Lloyd, I'm so so—" Diana began, but her words were cut off prematurely as the hug from her partner got a bit tighter.
"I thought I lost you..." The Green Ninja's voice trailed off beside her ear. Diana stayed silent. She felt so guilty about what she did. "That was crazy, and reckless, and you better believe that I'm never leaving your side after a stunt like that." The Green Ninja was fighting back the tears in his eyes. He couldn't even begin to explain the huge amount of relief that was flooding his body. Diana was here, she was safe.
A bittersweet smile formed itself onto the Purple Ninja's face as she hugged her beloved partner back, relaxing her head against the crook of his neck. "Fine by me." Though, it was just loud enough for the Green Ninja to catch.
