"We're not getting to the safehouse, are we..?" Dareth asked quietly as he hid behind the others a bit.
The Sons of Garmadon had them surrounded, each one equipped with their own weapon, and their own ride. There were at least three dozen of the bikers, and there was no way Lloyd and his friends were going to be able to outrun the gang or fight them off. Before Lloyd could come up with any sort of plan though, about a third of the leather adorned bikers hopped off of their motorcycles, and began charging at the defenseless team ahead of them.
"What do we do Lloyd??" Nya asked worriedly as she kicked away an approaching Son of Garmadon.
"I'm working on it—!" The Green Ninja as he fought against the strength of a different gang member who was trying to push him backwards.
Lloyd was struggling though. He was struggling to push back against the man that was attacking him. He was struggling to think, too much was happening, and no matter what angle he looked at it from he, Nya, Diana, and Dareth were doomed, meaning Skylor and Pixal would be too soon after them. He had to think of something, he had to do something! Then suddenly, the man Lloyd was fighting against flew to his left and was thrown into his abandoned bike.
Someone had just punched the man away, and when Lloyd looked to his right, he was surprised to see the Master of Metal.
"Karlof?" The Green Ninja asked in shock and disbelief, earning him an amused smile from the steel coated man.
"Good to be seeing you again, Green Ninja," Karlof greeted with his thick, heavy accent.
Lloyd then watched as other members of the Resistance began swarming into the fight. Sensei Garmadon, Misako, Griffin, Tox, Shade, Neuro, Mr. Pale, Ash, Chamille, Gravis, and even Obscuria were here. Everyone was here! Lloyd, Nya, and Dareth then watched as their allies swept through the ranks of the attacking bikers. Once their initial shock had worn off, the trio joined back in the fight as well, this time accompanied by Pixal as she got out of the car they had stolen. Then, in less than a minute, about half of the members of the gang had been plowed through. Not long after that, the leather wearing group frantically clambered onto their bikes in a desperate means of escape.
"You better run!" Diana shouted as the SOG bikers sped down the small side street they were on, and disappeared around the corner of a building at the end of the block.
Once the chaos had resided, and everyone began to calm down from the excitement, Shade, Mr. Pale, and Griffin turned their attention to the remaining Sons of Garmadon. The gang members were all incapacitated on the ground, and while Mr. Pale and Shade worked on sitting all of the unconscious bikers together. Griffin found a long stretch of chain laying on the ground that one of the SOG members had previously tried to use as a weapon. After ensuring the gang members were all chained up, including Luke Cunningham himself, everyone in the Resistance turned their attention to the Green Ninja and his friends.
"Man, are you guys okay? You all look like you got hit by a bus..." Tox was the first one to speak. She and the others had quickly noticed the disheveled state their small field team was in. "Uh, no offense." The Master of Poison scratched the back of her head awkwardly.
But at that moment, Diana perked up and looked around warily. She felt a very strong tingle in her heart. That only happens when a portal from a different realm has been opened into Ninja. Everyone gazed at her in both worry and concern as she looked up at the sky warily.
That's when a thunderous sound was echoing throughout the city, almost as if a crack of lightning had struck one of the skyscrapers that towered the rest of the skyline. However, the sky was clear. There was no storm, and there were no clouds in sight. As the Resistance turned their eyes to the orange painted canvas above them though, they all spotted a bright light. The light was circular, like the sun, but this light was coming from the east while the sun was already beginning to set in the west. Not only that, but this light was not golden, instead it was radiating with a pure white light. Then in a flash, the light grew four times its size, and everyone watched as a beam of matching energy poured out from it like an open window. What the Resistance saw next though, they almost couldn't believe. Dragons, a handful of dragons appeared from the light of the bright portal, and Lloyd, Diana, and Nya's eyes widened at the sight. The others... They had finally come home!
As Zane's dragon took the lead, the dragons of the other Ninja quickly followed in suit, gliding between the towers of Ninjago City as they flew to the location of the Resistance. As soon as the Ninja and their dragons came into view of the Resistance again, the group could hear the cheers coming from their friends down below. They had not expected to see so many of the other Elemental Masters, but the Ninja all smiled as soon as their gazes fell onto the small forms of Lloyd, Nya, and Pixal.
As soon as the dragons touched down onto the street below, the Ninja wasted no time jumping down from off of their dragons' backs. Lloyd, Nya, Diana, and Pixal were already sprinting as fast as they could towards the group, and the other Ninja ran as fast as they could to meet the others half way. Immediately, all the Ninja began hugging one another in one large group hug. In that moment, all the pain in their bodies disappeared, and all that mattered was that they were together again. None of them wanted to let go, afraid one of them would slip away if they did so, and instead took time to bask in how grateful they were to have this moment. After some time had passed though, the group hug was finally broken, and the Ninja all began sharing individual hugs instead. The Teal Ninja, the Green Ninja, and the Purple Ninja were crying tears of joy, and scrambled to wipe away the wetness from their eyes when all of the celebrating began to come to a conclusion. They had thought the others had died, and even though Mystake had told them they had survived, it had been hard to believe until now.
"How are you holding up Green Machine? You look tired." Cole turned his attention to the green clad boy beside him.
"I am," Lloyd admitted as his expression fell into one more of seriousness. "But now's not the time to rest. The Resistance has been holding out for as long as we could while we waited for you guys to return. Now that you're all finally back, I think we can stand a real chance against Lord Garmadon."
"If we are going to confront Lord Garmadon, then I suggest we do so soon. I fear Skylor will not last long if we continue to wait," Pixal chimed in, her comment earning her a worried look from the Master of Fire.
"Skylor? She's with the Resistance?" Kai asked before scanning the other members of the Resistance standing behind his friends. "I don't see Skylor though. What happened to her? Is she okay?"
"Define okay," admitted Diana nervously.
"She tapped into Garmadon's power while you guys were gone, but it was too much for her to bear. Now it's like she's been poisoned by it." Nya explained sadly.
"Pixal thinks there's a chance that we can save her though if we put a stop Lord Garmadon," Lloyd added.
"Then it seems it is time to take the fight to my brother." Master Wu moved away from Firstbourne and joined in on his Ninja's conversation.
At first, Nya, Lloyd, and Diana stared at Wu in confusion. Neither of them recognized him in his younger state. After a few seconds though, Nya finally recalled the version of younger Wu that she had seen when she had traveled to the battle between the Elemental Alliance and the Hands of Time.
"Master Wu?" The Water Ninja questioned in surprise, earning her a nod from her sensei.
Wu then turned his attention to Lloyd. "Has your power returned?" Recalling the Green Ninja's lack of Elemental Powers when the two of them had been fleeing from the Jade Princess. Just before he and the others had been sent to the First Realm.
"No..." Lloyd answered with clear disappointment. "But Mystake taught me that true power doesn't come from having elemental abilities. It comes from within." It earned him a bittersweet, but proud smile from Wu.
"Mystake is no longer with us, is she?" The Ninja's sensei asked.
"No one has seen or heard from her since she went to help Skylor absorb Garmadon's power.." Nya answered sadly.
"You know, the Resistance wouldn't be here if it hadn't been for that crazy little woman," Dareth cut in as he walked over to the Ninja. "So, in honor of her, I recommend we drop it old-school and kick butt!" He picked up a discarded SoG blade from off of the ground, and tossed it over to the green ninja.
Lloyd caught the blade with his left hand, and stared down at his reflection in the steel of the sword for a moment before smiling to himself. Dareth was right, the time for hiding was over. Now, it was time to take the fight to him again.
"Lloyd, Diana." The two of them looked at Sensei Garmadon, whose expression was worried about them both. "Please promise you two will be careful."
"We'll try," whispered Diana.
Lloyd wrapped his arms around Sensei Garmadon and squeezed his father tightly. Lloyd felt Sensei Garmadon's strong arms wrap around him. He shut his eyes and let his whole body relax into the embrace. Sensei Garmadon looked over to his student. Their eyes met for a couple of seconds before Diana rushed in to join the embrace. After a while, Diana pulled back from the embrace to give the duo an extra bonding moment. Sensei Garmadon, however, held his son for a few seconds more.
"Father? You can let go now," Lloyd assured, although his father's soft gaze comforted Lloyd greatly.
"I'm so proud of you..." Sensei Garmadon whispered into his ear.
"Thanks, father..." Lloyd relaxed in his hug before the two of them pulled out of their embrace.
At that moment, a Wind Dragon had flew through the portal before it closed. The Wind Dragon is ivory white with golden highlights and bright green eyes. The Wind Dragon landed in front of them, a snort came from her.
"That's the Wind Dragon that I've befriended," Kai whispered, recognizing the Wind Dragon.
(I really like this soundtrack).
