"I— I can't wake her up—!" The Master of Water informed the others worriedly, the sounds of panic and stress evident in her voice, as she tried to shake the orange clad girl in her arms awake.
The chest plate of the Samurai X mech then opened not a second later, and Pixal wasted no time jumping down from the pilot's seat and running over to the Water Ninja's side. The titanium girl's eyes glowed brighter for a brief moment as she scanned the Master of Amber cradled in her friend's arms. Then, upon further inspection, the nindroid took notice of the dark purple hues clouding the fallen Elemental Master's eyes.
"Is she..?" Nya trailed off fearfully.
"Scans indicate that Skylor is still alive, but it appears Lord Garmadon's power has poisoned her," Pixal explained with a frown, turning her attention to the dark-haired Ninja.
"I was afraid of that," admitted Diana.
"Poisoned her? Is that even possible—?" Nya then shook her head. Of course it was possible, all she had to do was open her eyes and stop letting her emotions drive her. After resetting her mental focus, and taking in a deep breath, the Master of Water looked at the samurai beside her with a serious expression. "Okay, if Skylor is poisoned, then how do we undo it?"
"Logic dictates that if Skylor's absorbed fragment of power is still tethered to Garmadon, then the only way to expel the power that is poisoning her, is to stop it at the source," Pixal explained.
"Then that means we need to stop Lord Garmadon from using his powers," Nya stated with a look of determination.
Before either of the girls could continue their conversation though, they were suddenly interrupted by Dareth. "I may not know anything about Elemental Powers, but I do know what's coming our way!"
As Pixal and Nya looked up, they quickly caught notice of what it was Dareth was panicking over. It was Lord Garmadon's Colossus, and from the looks of it, the giant stone golem was throwing a major tantrum. The Colossus was stomping its feet on the road beneath, leaving large pits behind it, and was slamming its arms into the sides of the surrounding skyscrapers. The world shook as the Colossus let out a deafening roar, causing the group to cup their hands over their ears until it stopped. Once the Colossus stopped roaring though, the most concerning sight came to light. The giant was coming right for them again!
"Guys, we need to go! Pronto!!" Dareth yelled again, this time turning on his heel as he began to jump around in place nervously.
"Guys, help me get Skylor to the mech!" Nya ordered as she began to stand up, hoisting one of Skylor's arms over her shoulders and Diana quickly helped her.
As Dareth moved to help the Teal Ninja get Skylor to safety, Pixal quickly made her way back over to the Samurai X mech, before jumping back up onto the lowered chest plate and climbing into the cockpit. As the samurai sat in the pilot's chair she flipped several switches, causing the chest plate of the mech to close up once more, and starting up the mech's thrusters for take-off. As the small group got closer to the mech, Pixal laid down the back of one of its hands flat onto the rooftop for them to set Skylor on. Once they were all sure the Master of Amber wouldn't roll off, Pixal gently closed the mech's golden claws around the fragile body of the orange clad girl, being sure to hold their incapacitated friend close to the mech's chest for protection. Diana and Nya then climbed up either arm of the Samurai X mech, and held onto the mech's armor firmly as they took their places upon its shoulders.
Pixal then pressed several more buttons on the inner console of the Samurai X mech, and in an instant, the mech was launched into the air by its ignited thrusters. As Nya then turned her attention to check behind them, the Master of Water took notice that Garmadon's Colossus was far too close for comfort. Sadly, with the additions that had been made to the Samurai X mech's armor, the mech was slower than it had originally been designed for. While Garmadon's colossus was not close enough to reach out and grabbed them, it was close enough to throw pieces of debris at them with worrying accuracy. Dareth let out a yelp of fear as he watched several boulder sized pieces of building get thrown their direction, and hurriedly nestled himself into the crook of the Samurai X mech's neck area. Nya on the other hand, carefully stood up onto her feet, balancing herself so she was not blown off by the mech's somewhat unsteady movements.
As the chunks of building flew through the sky, and closed in on them, the Water Ninja's hands began to glow with a bright teal light. In a matter of seconds, Nya had collected some of the water in the air, and orbs made of her element had encased her hands. Diana then let out a loud yell as she jetted water at the chunks of concrete in a similar way to how a fire hose worked. With all the intense pressure from the water blasts, the boulders eroded down into nothing more than small palm sized stones in mere seconds, before falling to the earth below.
The Master of Water kept up her defense as she warded off another barrage of boulders, but not long after, Garmadon's colossus had opted to throw a car at them instead. The Teal Ninja and the Purple Ninja both attempted to blast away the vehicle, but the metal and plastic it was made out of was more durable than the stones that had come before it. The group on the Samurai X mech then let out involuntary yelps as the back of the metallic suit was nailed by the car.
"That doesn't look good!" Dareth said worriedly as he looked down at the now sparking thruster jet on the back of the Samurai X suit.
"That's because it's not good!" Nya replied, a look of concern plastered onto her face before she turned her attention to Pixal. "Pixal, the main thruster's been hit!"
"Do it!" Lloyd cried out. "The other one has been hit too!"
"Hurry Pixal!" exclaimed Diana.
"The thrusters has taken too much damage, it is failing. I am going to have to make an emergency controlled crash landing!" The nindroid began pressing more buttons on the mech's console.
"Did you just say crash landing?!" Dareth asked, his words drenched in fear.
"Hold on tight Dareth!" The Teal Ninja warned as she sat back down on the mech's shoulder, and faced the front before gripping its metal plating tightly.
The sound of Dareth's screaming could be heard echoing through the sky as the Samurai X mech fell to the streets below, a dark cloud of smoke left trailing behind it, before finally crashing on the pavement.

Her skin felt ice cold. Her body shivered and trembled uncontrollably as she felt herself sink deeper and deeper into the dark hole, the surface far from her reach. She could barely breathe and when she tried her chest felt like it was on fire. Her last breath escaped her mouth and the faint, distant echoing of voices faded as the cold darkness consumed her.
"—Ana!" That was Lloyd's voice, he sounded choked with tears and emotions. "Please wake up! I don't want to lose you too!"
When Diana woke up, her body was no longer cold. The sun's rays warmed her skin. She sat upright, eyes squinting until she adjusted to the light. Why was she here? Where was she? Why couldn't she remember about being here? With every question, her head felt foggy, as though something was trying to make its way to the forefront of her mind. It hurt, trying to remember. It was then she remembered what happened earlier.
"Diana, are you okay?" Lloyd asked her softly, his brown eyes warm and filled with concern.
"Yeah." Diana sat up and smiled warmly at her gathered friends. Diana looked up at the Green Ninja, studying his face just as she had the first time they met. Diana could make out the clean spots on his face where tears had streaked through. Diana had since taken off his ninja hood, his hair a mess from all the chaos he had went through. Diana clung onto the boy with a smile.
Lloyd wasn't expecting the hug, but he felt himself soften as he wrapped his arms around Diana. "You really had me worried you know." The two of them remained in their embrace. She continued to rest her head against the Green Ninja's chest, listening to the soothing sound of his heartbeat.
Once they stopped hugging each other, Lloyd lead Diana out of the mech and joined the others onto the road. Diana looked around with wary curiosity, making sure they're in the clearing.
"I'm sorry for breaking this up, but there's no time to lose. The dark version of your father is destroying the city, and it's not safe here. So, I need you to pull yourself together and hang in there a little while longer. You think you can do that?" Nya whispered into the Green Ninja's ear while Diana gently combed her fingers through his hair.
"Yeah. Yeah, I can do that." Lloyd replied quietly, nodding his head ever so slightly as he closed his eyes to recollect himself.
When Lloyd opened his eyes again not a moment later, Nya flashed the Green Ninja a soft smile. She truly felt bad for her brother, but another part was proud of him for managing to remain strong, despite the fact that it seemed like the whole world was falling apart around them.
"As much as I hate to admit it Lloyd," Dareth suddenly spoke up, catching the Green Ninja's attention. "Nya is right. Your father has lost his marbles!" He gestured 'coo-coo' near the side of his temple.
"Lord Garmadon will not stop until he has found us," Pixal added, her metallic face turned down into a frown.
"What should we do?" Diana asked them with wary curiosity.
"Lord Garmadon will not stop until he has found us," Pixal added, her metallic face turned down into a frown.
"I think the only option for us now is to leave the city," The Master of Water admitted, causing Lloyd to turn his attention to her again instead.
"Leave the city?? We can't just leave the city—!" Lloyd was not mad, only disappointed by the suggestion.
"Just until things calm down," The Teal Ninja clarified. However, Nya's clarification of her plan did nothing to comfort the green clad boy in front of her.
Diana scowled and let out a dragon-like growl. "I hate running away like a coward." Nya flinched back at her fierce point of view as she gazed at her. "A bunch of other people are trapped here and you're thinking about running away from those who need our aid?!" Nya understood that this situation was bringing back horrible memories of the Great Devourer Incident, and Diana had risen a very good point about the people who weren't able to evacuate in time.
"Okay... We'll get out of here," The Green Ninja finally agreed, Lloyd paused though as his expression changed to one of firmness. "We're not skipping town though. We stay in the city, and we hold on for as long as we can."
After exchanging a look between the three of them, Nya, Pixal, and Dareth then turned their attention back to their young leader of the Resistance and Diana.
"Okay. If that's your call, then we'll stand by it." The Master of Water then turned her attention to Dareth for a brief moment. "Dareth, help Pixal with Skylor. Lloyd, you stick close by to me. Skylor told me about a second safehouse in case things went south. The city's water treatment plant. It's on the West side of the city, and I think I might be able to get us there without us being spotting by any stragglers from the SOG."
Lloyd gave a nod of acknowledgement to his Ninja Sister's plan, and without any hesitation, began following her as she led the way. While the three of them carefully checked the corners of each street for any Sons of Garmadon, Pixal and Dareth trailed a little bit behind them. The journey across town was going to be a slow one, but Lloyd hoped it would be worth it. They were all trying their hardest to endure and to stay strong, but what was keeping the other Ninja for so long..?
But little did they know, trouble was right around the corner.
