So, one foot in front of another, as the afternoon wore on, they climbed the rooftops. They jumped over chimneys, climbed rickety rooftops, and ran side by side. The hours passed quickly as they navigated the many obstacles, and by the time they reached a clearing halfway up the mountain, the day was ending.
"You're going to do it again, aren't you?" Skylor said to Diana.
"Sure am." At Diana's words, her hands started glowing brightly. Skylor could have sworn he felt the magical energy in the air. And at that moment, a massive and blinding flash of light had entered the room from Diana.
In a flash of fire and smoke, a portal opened before them. Colors swirled around them — black, red, blue, teal, white, green, and purple. Images from mythic realms of the otherworld passed by everyone's eyes. Flying dragons, great birds, past Elemental Masters, the First Spinjitzu Master, the first Elemental Masters, brave lions, elegant phoenixes, great octopuses, great gorillas, wolf shadows all flew by, both ghostly and real at the same time.
But luck wasn't on their side, another strike of light has hit near them within the portal. "Ahh!" They tried to cover their eyes, but it was too late; they were momentarily blinded. Everyone's sight was starting to come back, but everything was still fuzzy.
Once they recovered from the flash of light, Diana and Skylor landed in the warehouse, everyone in the Resistance whipped their heads around to see who it was, and Lloyd and Nya wasted no time running over to their friends as Diana slammed the door shut behind her and her friend.
"Diana! Skylor!" The Green Ninja was the first one to speak. He immediately hugged Diana, clearly relieved at the sight of her.
"Where's Mystake?" Nya spoke up next, her question causing an expression of guilt to veil itself over the Master of Amber's face.
"I— I don't know—" Skylor answered honestly.
"I haven't seen since the fight we done together," admitted Diana, shrugging helplessly.
"Skylor, Diana," The Master of Water began, gaining her the two girls' attention. "Were you two followed?"
"I don't know. I do know that Lord Garmadon already sent word out for the Sons of Garmadon to scour the city though. They were swarming at least a five block radius around Borg Tower by the time we both escaped," Skylor explained.
"And I think we confused them after I teleported us off one of the rooftops," added Diana.
"Well, what about Lord Garmadon?" Dareth chimed in next from his spot a few feet away.
"Yes, were you at least able to get to him?" Misako added, finishing the thought the brown ninja had started.
"Yes," The Master of Amber gave a determined nod.
"I'm not sure that's a good idea." Diana's eyes showed nothing, but concern. "Oni represents darkness. If you had copied it, it could hurt you."
Skylor smiled softly Diana. "I know. But it's a risk that I'm willing to take."
"What about the Colossus?" Nya interjected once more. "Can you control it?"
"I'm not sure," Skylor replied with a frown.
Not a moment later though, the orange clad girl's expression changed into one of determination. "But there's only one way to find out."
"Lloyd," Nya spoke up again, turning her attention to the green ninja as she said his name. Lloyd said nothing, but was finally pulled from his train of thought as he looked over at the Water Ninja. "It's time. Just give the word."
Then suddenly, before any members of the Resistance could speak, the large garage door of the warehouse exploded. Everyone in the Resistance was sent flying backwards at the shockwave the explosion had created, and as they all rushed back onto their feet, the back windows of the warehouse were broken. Gang members from the Sons of Garmadon poured into the building without hesitation, and in a matter of seconds, a full blown battle between the SoG and the Resistance had broken out.
"It appears the chances of the Sons of Garmadon tracking them down were rather high," Pixal stated as she unsheathed her golden katanas from off of her back, and began fending off some of the disciples of Garmadon.
"Yeah, it sure seems that way!" Shade ducked down to avoid a punch coming his way, before holding his fists up to his face and socking the attacking Son of Garmadon square in the jaw.
"What do we do Lloyd?!?" Dareth asked as he cowered behind the green ninja tearfully.
"We stick to the plan! Getting Skylor to his Colossus so she can control it is too valuable of an opportunity to lose!" Lloyd shouted over all of the chaos as he kicked away an approaching Son of Garmadon.
After thinking for a moment, the Green Ninja's eyes landed onto Pixal's mech. Skylor, Nya, and Pixal had upgraded the Samurai X mech, so there was a good chance that with all the extra armor that had been added onto it, that it would be able to escape the fight unscathed.
"Pixal!" Lloyd shouted, causing the nindroid to turn her attention to him after knocking down another Son of Garmadon. "Can you use the Samurai X mech to get us to the Colossus?"
"Consider it done!" Pixal shouted back as she resheathed her katanas.
Lloyd and the others then watched as Pixal jumped up, and got to the mech on the other side of the warehouse (or what was left of it), by jumping across various gang members' heads. As she jumped off the head of the last Son of Garmadon, Pixal latched onto the front chest plate of her mech. The nindroid then hoisted herself up as she climbed up the mech, and then into the pilot's seat. With the flip of a few switches the Samurai X mech came to life, and Pixal controlled the metal behemoth with ease, using its large arms to swipe away groups of SOG as she made her way over to where Skylor and Nya were standing by the rest of the huddled Resistance.
"Get on!" Pixal's robotic voice shouted over all the sounds of fighting as she placed the back of one of her mech's hands onto the ground.
Without any hesitation, both Nya, Skylor, and Diana hopped onto the mech's hand, before each claiming one of its shoulders to ride on.
"Come on Lloyd!" Nya yelled to the Green Ninja as she held out one of her hands to him. Lloyd was soon brought up into the mech's hand.
Lloyd then looked over at the other members of the Resistance. Sensei Garmadon, Misako, Griffin, Tox, Shade, Neuro, Mr. Pale, Ash, Chamille, Gravis, and even Obscuria seemed to be handling themselves just fine. The Sons of Garmadon that had joined the side of the resistance also seemed to be faring well. The Elemental Masters had come together to defeat a common enemy, and now both parties were stronger than ever.
"We will keep them held back for as long as we can!" Neuro gave the Green Ninja a nod of reassurance as he glanced over his shoulder for a brief moment.
