Satori, of course, had his own fears. Lately, one of his greatest worries was that he was acting a little possessive, and a little obsessive towards his Wakatoshi-kun lately, and – no matter how insanely patient – sooner or later, Wakatoshi-kun was going to get bored of him, and just search for something else, someone different. His logical mind had been prompting him that this scenario was highly unlikely, as Wakatoshi-kun had stayed very loyal to him for the last 10 years, if not more. But his anxiety was calling in, almost daily, and the constant fear that he would be – again - abandoned and replaced was making him nervous at times, and so annoyingly clingy!
He had been waiting, any day now, his Wakatoshi-kun to scold him about it, about the way he would non-stop seek for petting and hugging whenever they were close to each other. Because, the truth was that after their intimate night, no matter how unsuccessful, he felt the beautiful man as his own, he felt him closer in more ways than one. The sex itself didn't matter so much to him, it was rather the trust they shared that night that made him fall even deeper.
This possibly was the reason why, about two weeks after their date night, he kind of lost his mind, freaking out about something that wouldn't have worried him normally.
It was already close to 7:30 in the evening, and he had been calling Wakatoshi-kun's phone so much that the battery died. The recorded message that the user is unavailable did not help – it actually made Satori get onto the terrace to monitor the street down there for full 4-and-a-half minutes, and then – to run downstairs, in his socks, and watch intently in the direction from which Wakatoshi-kun usually came back from work.
Why?
Because Wakatoshi-kun would never return home after 5:30 in the evening. Just in time for dinner.
- What... what... - Tendō was dry-sobbing, and his mind was drawing the worst possible pictures.
He now bitterly regretted not having anyone else's phone number – he never got close to anyone of the team really. Biting his lips severely, he was wondering whether to call the police, or maybe a hospital... to check... just to make sure... But then – which hospital!? And which police station exactly?!
- It's been too good... for too long... I knew it... - he was sniffling, panicking terribly, and brushing his tears away with the edge of his sleeve. – He... he...
Well, people stared at him, thinking he was probably drunk, so he had to go back home, quite unwillingly, but as soon as the door was closed, he rushed towards the terrace and remained there, half-hanging out of it, staring into the same direction, longing to see the massive figure of someone he loved more than he realized.
It was almost 8 when – sure enough – Wakatoshi's sprinting silhouette appeared, right there, just like every day, approaching faster than usual.
- Oh, god... thank god!!! - Tendō collapsed on his keeps, burying his face in his hands, sobbing uncontrollably now, relieved.
He let himself ugly-cry for a couple of minutes, until the front door clicked, being unlocked from the outside. He jumped to his feet with energy he never suspected he still possessed, and rushed towards that same door, jumping onto Wakatoshi's sweaty body and grabbing with all his force.
- I'M GONNA KILL YOU!!! DO YOU HEAR ME!?! I AM SO GONNA MURDER YOU!!!
Ushijima gaped now. He had had a smile on his face, pleased with what he thought to be a warm welcome home, but now he noticed the wet face, the puffy eyes, and those desperate words most definitely meant something was very wrong.
