Deetra enjoyed the sunny mornings as much as she liked trips. She loved to lean against the windows in the car, wearing her fancy sunglasses looking outside at all the cars and people she was passing by. James was focused on the road driving with a steady speed, glaring at his girlfriend from time to time.
"Darling, you look anxious. Is everything alright?"
He asked in a worrying tone as she sighed. Deetra sipped some of her hot coffee and turned her chin towards her boyfriend. She was anxious indeed.
"Just stressed about meeting your parents, especially your father. After learning about what he did back to Italy -"
"You don't have to worry about that. We talked about it a thousand times, Deetra."
James spoke in a serious tone, a growl escaping his lips. Deetra gulped and nodded before looking back outside. She looked bitter, but he decided not to say more, not wanting to worsen the situation.
"Anyway... My dad is named Florenzo, and my mom's name is Sara... I promise they're good people, Deetra... It was a stupid teenage mistake; he doesn't want any troubles...."
"Whatever you say, James...."
She puffed in anger with crossed arms. James hated it seeing her like this; it was getting him on the nerves. Deetra always acted like a baby when something wasn't going her way or thought she was right even if she wasn't.
James pressed the brake out of a sudden, her body moving towards abruptly. Her eyes widened as she ground her teeth and turned with a sharp movement towards her boyfriend. She raised her hands in front of her chest.
"What the bloody hell was that!?"
"Why are you so against my family, Deetra!? What's your problem exactly!?"
"Your family is dipped in evilness, James!"
"Oh, look, who's talking!"
James laughed in anger; his blue eyes had a different hue than usual, a darker one. Deetra stared at him with a half-opened mouth. He couldn't control his anger; soon, he started screaming his lungs out, moving his hands around, trying to express himself. His thoughts were moving too quickly, and there was no space for him to think clearly.
"Your mother was left all alone because your father couldn't keep his dick in his pants! God knows how many families he destroyed except his! Plus, didn't she have cancer and declined the treatments!? Do you know how many people around the earth wish they had enough money to treat their illness, Deetra!? Quite a lot! Your mother was a bitch that didn't care a bit if her kids were left all alone! Oh, and your dad was a cunt! If my father knew about his existence, he would take him out before Lazaro's family!"
The veins on James' neck, forehead, and arms were visible. Deetra was standing still in her seat; all his words had already messed with her brain. He was panting heavily with an open mouth. She raised her right hand, wanting to slap him. Instead, she pressed her fingers into a punch. Her bottom lip was trembling, and her eyes were shining against the sunlight.
"I can't believe you, James."
That sentence softened the man in seconds. His tense shoulders were low now as he followed her silhouette. She got out of the car with a sigh and opened the trunk taking out her suitcase. James got out of the car, too, and followed her with quick steps. They were around thirty minutes outside of London.
"Deetra, I am s-so sorry -"
"I won't come along, James."
She turned around and glared at him. He kept looking at her with wide eyes, gulping. He pointed at the car with his hands, trying to talk to her calmly and change her decision.
