James' eyes were on Sebastian the whole dinner, something seemed wrong about him, but he didn't know what. He pushed the fork in his mouth, tasting the food; he had missed his mother's cooking. Deetra seemed to enjoy the food; James smiled but turned to Sebastian, who was sitting on the other side of the table.
"So, Sebastian, what's your job?"
James asked in a serious tone; Sebastian raised his head and glared at him. He opened his mouth, but no words were coming out. Florenzo looked at his son and then at Sebastian with a soft smile.
"I uh... I am a bodyguard. I work for the government, and my duty is to protect... important people."
"Oh."
James gulped and returned to his meal; he could feel Deetra's eyes on him.
"You know, Sebastian, my son is a policeman."
Florenzo added, receiving a stare from his son and daughter. James rubbed his face, anxious as Sebastian looked at him with a broad smile.
"A policeman!? Such an important person!"
"Yeah...."
James mumbled, soon feeling Deetra's elbow to his side. He glared at her, their eyes meeting each other. Her eyes were wide open as she nodded.
"Is police searching for someone currently?"
Florenzo spoke; both Sebastian and James glanced at him and then at each other.
"I don't know about the police, but I've heard my superiors talk about Smiley."
Deetra choked on her food; everyone's eyes were on her.
"Deetra, my darling, are you okay?"
Sara questioned as Deeta nodded, grabbing her glass of rose wine.
"Yes, I'm fine, no worries!"
She laughed softly, bringing it to her lips and having a sip. Her boyfriend looked away and patted her thigh with a quick movement.
"Who's Smiley?"
Florenzo spoke, holding his glass of wine. His eyes were stuck on Sebastian's face waiting for an answer.
"A drug baron in the UK that keeps getting stronger! He goes around with the nickname "Smiley" and has tight ties with the Italian mafia."
Deetra leaned back on the chair with her hands on the table. She felt like a black sheep. She heard the growl that escaped Florenzo's mouth when he heard the words "Italian mafia." It was her turn to pat James' leg as she brought her palm to his knee, worried.
"W-Well, we have nothing to do with the Italian mafia, so we are good!"
"Neither with that drug baron!"
Fiona added to James' saying with an awkward smile and her hands in front of her chest. Her brother just rolled his eyes and turned to his father.
"I'm sure the police will get him, dad."
"Are you working on his case? You know, find clues to catch him, son?"
Florenzo asked; James just fiddled with his fingers under the table. Soon, he received another pat from his girlfriend, this time on the thigh.
"Oh, no, no, not me but some of my colleagues do! I assure you everything's going perfectly!"
"He has a sister, too, James. Can't the police find him through her?"
Sebastian added; Deetra glared at him and then at Fiona. Fiona just mouthed "sorry" at her as she sighed.
"How do you know he has a sister, Sebastian?"
