I was livid. I wasn't innocently disappointed, I was livid.
I was angry at Michael, for sending the text, making Zack assume false assumptions.
I knew it wasn't Michael's fault, but really? That text just made Zack hate me, and think that us getting close was a farce.
I needed to confront him. It was now or never, I needed to tell him about the boys, and the band. I needed to come clean, surely telling him that Michael was a brother figure touring the world in a band, even though it is a band that he hates, would be better than telling him that he was boyfriend material.
I liked Zack, a lot. And I only hoped that he could believe me.
I ran out and chased him down the street. I finally caught up.
'Zack!' I hollered as I approached him.
He didn't turn around.
'Look, I've got a lot to talk about if you still wanna listen.'
He turned around, with a small smile on his face, that I quoted our song.
'Or if you even care.' He responded.
'So will you?' He nodded.
We made our way to the park in the middle of the night, and I gave him his phone back.
'This is going to be hard to tell you, and I only hope you believe me. And before I start, I want you to know that I really like you, and I'm only interested in you and no one else because you are always here for me, and I'm sorry for keeping a big secret from you for so long.'
He raised his eyebrows.
'Okay, well... Michael, he's like a brother to me, along with Ashton and Calum. I moved to England to live with my brother after both of our parents died in a car crash.' I looked to my feet, taking a deep breath. Zack put his hand on my thigh, and I immediately took it off. He looked at me in confusion. I looked to the trees in the distance. 'My brother, Luke. He lives in the UK because his band was signed to a record label over here, and they had a lot of business to sort out, they're pretty big now. They're touring the world which is why I'm home alone all the time.' I paused for a reaction. There was no going back now.
'That's awesome!' He tells me, though I can tell he thought I was insane. He didn't believe me.
I shake my head and put my hand up, stopping him. 'No, Zack. I don't know how this hasn't spread around to you yet, but you absolutely hate this band, and you tell me this very often to how much you hate them, at every possible opportunity and it hurts.' I tell him sadly. I stand up. 'I don't know if you believe me or not, so go home and look up 5 Seconds Of Summer, and their front man's little sister.'
I turn around and walk off, leaving his with an expression of surprise. He was gutted and his mouth was hanging open. His eye's pleaded guilty, and I knew he felt sorry for everything he had said before, but I could tell that he still half couldn't believe me.
So it was just best if I went home. So that's what I did.
He didn't follow me. He didn't try and text or call me, and to be honest I was glad. I don't think I want to be confronted by anyone at the moment.
It was the middle of the night, but this was important. I whipped my phone out and dialled a number.
A number that would help me.
'Hello?' There was a short pause, 'Kayla?'
'Hi, I'm sorry to wake you, but this is important, are you free tomorrow?'
