I hopped in the passenger seat after Rogue got settled in the backseat behind us.

"Howdy kid!" Alex jeered.

"I can't tell if you're putting that on, or if you actually talk like that around here." I laughed, trying to feel more comfortable in the car.

He was wearing skinny jeans and a blue button up that had the sleeves rolled halfway up his arms. His sunglasses were dark and so his eyes were hidden.

Alex chuckled and shook his head. "I'm just in a good mood, just messing with ya."

Just then, Luke came running up to the car with my backpack.

"Here," he said as he passed me the bag through the open window, "you forgot this."

I thanked him and unzipped the bag. I dropped my phone amongst my other belongings and said farewell to my brother.

I still wasn't the most comfortable in cars, I was a lot better don't get me wrong, but this was also an unfamiliar car.

I knew Alex as a front man to one of my favourite bands. I knew Alex as a lyrical genius. And I knew Alex as someone who showed me how he eases his anxiety. I did not know Alex as a driver.

This car was also a strange one, the interior was all light brown and leather. It seemed sort of old fashioned, but I liked it. It was a sort of truck built car, and it really suited Alex.

Soon, we pulled away from the hotel and left for wherever we were going.

"So how long you here for?" Alex asked, making conversation.

"Uhh, I don't know. I think we're only here for a couple weeks."

"No, I know that. I meant like how long are you staying with the guys?"

I shrugged. "I have even less of a clue about that. I don't really have any place where I need to be. So I guess I'm here for however long."

"That's so cool!" He paused as we came up to a junction and we changed direction. "So what about your friends back in the UK?"

I sighed. "I fell out with one of my close friends."

The was a silence as Alex debated whether to ask about it or leave it.

Thank goodness he decided to leave it.

"Hey, it'll sort out Kayla." He said, taking a hand off teh steering wheel and patting my thigh comfortingly.

He put his hand back on the wheel and smiled at me. "We're gonna have a fun day!"

I giggled as he pulled up at his house, and we all got out of the car.

We went into his house and I was greeted by Lisa, who waved at me from the kitchen counter.

She was busy doing some sort of paperwork.

"Lis is an event planner, she won't be able to make our hike later as she's got an appointment." Alex explained.

I nodded in understanding, and I sat and played with their dogs and Rogue whilst Alex got changed into his hiking clothes.

We parked up in the carpark, and I looked up at the sight before me.

It was breath taking, and I had never seen anything like it.

The colours were vibrant, all different shades of deep green, bouncing off of the clear blue sky with the blazing sun beating down on every little spectacle.
