"So looks like you really hit it off with Alex, huh?" Ashton mentioned as we were sat on the balcony the next morning.

I nodded fondly. They had found me and Alex playing the guitars together later on in the evening, when they had sobered up and it was time to return home.

They were crowded in the doorway, careful not to disturb us as we played our last song, Have Faith In Me.

I loved hanging out with Alex, I wasn't half as anxious as I thought I would be. In fact, my anxiety almost disappeared when I was bonding with him over our love for music.

I wasn't the best guitar player, and he proposed to start teaching me properly. I was grateful for him taking me under his wing, especially as he was busy with a lot of other things.

"Yeah," I continued, "he was really welcoming, I was surprised on how humble he was."

"He's just a guy, Kayla. Just like me. It doesn't look like that to the outside world, but it's true."

I shrugged in agreement.

"Well, I'm glad you enjoy being with Alex, because you're spending the day with him." Luke announced, sitting down beside me.

I tilted my head and urged him to continue.

"Well, me and Zoe are taking a day out. Michael has to go to therapy, and Ashton and Calum have to record instruments at the studio. You'd be bored at the studio all day, and Alex offered to look after you."

"I don't need a babysitter, Luke!"

"He likes you, that's why he offered. He didn't offer because it was a last resort option."

"Lu, the reason I came over to the States was to spend time with you guys, as a family. Why can't I just go with Mikey?" I begged. That was the grounding reason why I left the UK, to be here with Michael and help him through his struggles.

"Michael is, slightly ashamed of having to see a therapist." Ashton put lightly. "He is so glad you're here for him, but this is something that he is adamant that he does alone. You should respect that."

Ashton's voice tone changed, and I knew to leave it.

I nodded at Luke, accepting the fact that I would not see any of my boys today.

"Okay, Alex said to take Rogue with you, too."

I began to get happy at the fact that I would be spending time with my idol. I smiled at myself as I left to get ready for the day.

Rogue was at my heals as she begged for a morning walk.

"Fine girl, get down. We'll go in a minute."

Luke walked past me in the living room. "You don't have time to take her for a walk. Alex is downstairs waiting for you guys, but I think you're going for a hike later anyway."

"Do I need to take anything?" I asked.

He shrugged. "Take some old Nikes."

I changed into some leggings, and a BMTH white tank top that said 'drown' on the front. I slipped on my old grey vans and bagged up my Nikes for the hike.

I went downstairs with Rogue and out of the lobby door.

A car horn honked at me and my attention darted to the side, and I saw a window roll down with Alex's arm wave out.
