'Okay, so what were you doing when we rudely interrupted?'
'Sleeping.' It came out ruder than intended. Oops.
'I'm sorry about that!' Joe apologised.
'Yeah!' Caspar added.
I smiled. 'It's cool guys, honestly.'
'So what do you have planned for today?' Joe asked.
I groaned. 'Guys this is going to be generic and awkward if we're just going to talk about boring things. I have no idea what I'm going to do today, because you guys are here.' I exclaimed, laughing lightly.
Joe scratched the back of his neck and Caspar shuffled his weight from foot to foot.
I sigh. Things had better change. And soon.
We went into the living room and collapsed on the sofas. I put the telly on as background noise. Reduce the awkwardness, at least a tiny bit.
'I know what we're going to do!' Caspar suddenly burst out.
'Huh?' Me and Joe asked in unison.
We turned around and high fived each other. 'Hell yeah!' I said.
'It's a surprise, but we gotta get a train and then a taxi.' He said secretly.
I rolled my eyes.
'Hey guys? Can I ask a question?' Even though I probably know the answer already.
'Sure!' They both said tomorrow.
'Okay well first off, do you always talk at the same time? It's starting to freak me out. And secondly, why are you guys even here? Like not to sound rude bu-'
Caspar cut me off. 'Well firstly, Ashton and the guys just wanted us to check up on you. And secondly, he's told me a lot about you since you started to live with them, and you sounded great so we obviously wanna hang out!'
I seriously doubt that the second part was true, so I ignored it. 'Ok, but they know I'm okay, I call them and message them pretty much every day!'
'I guess they just wanted it from someone else's point of view, like a responsible adult's?'
'You guys barely even act like adults!' I laugh, trying to ease my tension.
'True!' Joe added, smirking. 'But they obviously just wanted to make sure.'
I smile, letting it go. I can't blame them. They agreed to leave a 16 year old home alone for an entire tour. Like it's okay to be home alone for a weekend, maybe even a week. But I guess where I live basically on my own more than living with them could take its toll on their conscience.
'I think we should go now.' Caspar began.
I leapt up, saying I just had to go and get changed. I suddenly realised I was literally in an oversized hoodie and shorts, it just looked like I was wearing the hoodie.
'Wear long sleeves and long trousers.' He told me.
I scrunched up my face in confusion.
But I did as I was told.
The journey was long, and we were just cracking jokes the entire time.
I didn't know if Joe knew where we were going or not, but I became so anxious. What were we going to do?
I also realised that I left my phone at home.
I would be going the entire day without checking it.
That is usually a good thing, to take a break from technology. But I have to talk to the guys every day, for both of our benefits. Would they be worried that I wasn't answering?
