Yankumi woke up early despite it being a Saturday. The sun had barely risen, casting a soft, golden light through the traditional paper screens of her old Japanese house. She headed straight to the sparring room, where the familiar sound of her footsteps echoed off the wooden floor.

Kudo was already there, though he looked noticeably groggy. Yankumi had dragged him out of bed for this session, despite his protests. As her subordinate, he had little choice but to comply.

"You're up early, Ojou," he remarked, suppressing a yawn as he stretched and prepared for their sparring session.

Yankumi shrugged, tying her hair back. "Couldn't sleep much. Figured I'd make use of the time." She stepped onto the mat, her movements fluid and precise, despite the early hour.

Kudo eyed her warily. Sparring with Yankumi was always intense, and she had a reputation for being quite scary during these sessions. Nevertheless, he braced himself, knowing that slacking off was not an option.

As they sparred, Yankumi's thoughts wandered to Sawada Shin. She couldn't help but think about her feelings for him and the ambiguity of his feelings towards her. Rumors about him dating another girl had been swirling around, and the thought of it made her blood boil.

Shinee!

In her agitation, she channeled her frustration into the sparring session, her movements becoming more intense and forceful. Kudo, struggling to keep up, found himself on the receiving end of her fury. He barely managed to block her strikes, and it felt like she was on the verge of breaking him with each powerful blow.

"Ojou, take it easy!" Kudo gasped, but she was too lost in her thoughts to hear him. It wasn't until she saw the exhaustion and desperation in his eyes that she pulled back, taking a deep breath to calm herself.

Yankumi snapped back to reality. "Shimatta!" she thought out loud, realizing how far she had pushed Kudo. He was breathing heavily, his face flushed and covered in sweat, and there were clear signs of fatigue and minor bruises from their intense sparring.

"Sorry kid, I got carried away," Yankumi apologized.

Kudo, still catching his breath, managed a weak smile. "Nah, Ojou, you're always like this."

She helped him up and they both sat down, taking a moment to rest. "We've been sparring for hours," she noted, glancing at the clock. It was already late morning, and their session had lasted much longer than usual.

Kudo winced as he stretched his sore muscles. "Yeah, time flies when you're getting beaten up," he joked, trying to lighten the mood.

"You brat is just so damn weak," Yankumi chuckled softly.

Kudo still catching his breath. "You're just as strong as a beast, Ojou."

Yankumi frowned, slightly annoyed by the comment, but before she could respond, Tetsu came into the room, looking for her.

"Ojou, there you are," Tetsu said, glancing between her and Kudo with a hint of concern. "Did you forget about your afternoon appointment with Odagiri Ryu?"

Yankumi's eyes widened in realization. "Oh crap, I almost forgot!" she exclaimed, quickly getting to her feet. She turned to Kudo. "Sorry kid. I need to go get ready. We'll spar again next time."

Kudo waved her off with a tired smile. "Oh... I'll probably die next time. Help me, Tetsu-san."

"Damn you, kid." Tetsu smirked. "You're so weak as fuck,"
