Chapter 25: Yankumi's Lover

"Hey guys!"

Everyone stopped what they're doing and turned their heads towards Rikiya who is standing in front of the teacher's table. He was beaming with happiness while holding some photos.

"Oi! What is it, Rikiya?" Honjo asked him, a bit annoyed.

"Now, now, don't be too mad early this morning," Rikiya brushes off his annoyance. "I've got something good!" He raised his hand with the photos.

"Haa?! What is it, damn it!" Honjo moved forward.

"It's Yankumi's lover!!!" Rikiya shouted.

"NANI??!!"

It feels like their voices echoed around the school building. Rikiya was mobbed by his shocked classmates. The photos were passed around like a kid's candy. And they couldn't believe what they saw.

"Ohayou, Kumiko-san," Odagiri look delighted when he saw Yankumi walking inside the school grounds.

"Oh, Odagiri-kun, ohayou!" she greeted in her usual cheerful self. And then she became quiet and somewhat preoccupied.

Odagiri noticed it right away. There's something wrong or something bothering her. "Ano... Kumiko-san, are you okay? You seem out of it today."

"Huh? Ehh?!" Yankumi snaps back to attention. "I-I'm fine! I'm sorry... are you saying something, Odagiri-kun?"

"No, it's just that you look like something is bothering you," Odagiri looked so concerned. "Is it about your 3D students? Did something happened?"

Yankumi wanted to brush off his concerns but she knew how persistent this former student of hers so she let out a sigh while partly looking down at her hands. "It's just... I have a lot on my mind lately. Balancing everything is harder than I expected."

"Did someone cause you trouble?" Odagiri stopped walking. "Are you okay? Did your students made you upset?" He bombarded Yankumi with questions.

"O-oh no, no, I'm fine," Yankumi scratched her head while forcing a shy smile. "Maybe I just needed a break, I might be exhausted from work, is all..."

Odagiri examined his former teacher turned to co-teacher. He seems not convince with her answer. "If you need someone to talk to, I'm all ears to you, Kumiko-san. Whenever or wherever, you can count on me,"

"Yeah, I'll remember that, Odagiri-kun. Thank you for worrying about me," Yankumi felt proud about her former student being concerned about her. They become reliable, she thought.

Odagiri Ryu smiled at her. As they were walking towards the 3D classroom, he made a determined facial expression. "Actually, Kumiko-san..."

"Hmm? What is it, Odagiri-kun?" she turns to look at him.

"I was wondering if you'd like to check this new coffee shop with me this coming Saturday?" Odagiri finally asked her.

"Oh, that's sounds nice! I'd be happy to go with you, Odagiri-kun," Yankumi exclaimed in excitement.

"Then it's settled! I have been wanting to try it soon," he said smiling widely like a little kid.

"Since I don't have any plans for this weekend, so it's fine," Yankumi said.

"Then I'll come pick you up at 2 o'clock in the afternoon, Kumiko-san?" Odagiri asked.

"Sure. See you then." Yankumi answered.
