"Oh crap!" Yankumi blurted out when she looked at her wrist watch. "I'm so late for the party!"

She grabbed her things and run towards the school gate. There was a meeting that took too long because of Sawatari Kyoto. And it's already 8pm when the meeting was done.

That damn vice principal!

She runs as fast as she could to the station. She decided to drop her things first and fix herself at home then she'll take taxi to go at Kuma's.

She managed to arrive at the station just before the train goes off. She was out of breath when she settled down. There are few people giving her amused gaze so she gave them a nod.

While trying to rest, she remembered to check her phone.

Oh!

There are 3 missed calls and 5 text messages!

The 'missed calls' are from (1) Kuma and (2) Fujiyama-sensei. And the text messages are from Kuma, Fujiyama sensei and Noda. They are asking her if she's gonna make it or not; where is she and why she's not answering her phone.

She replied back Kuma and Fujiyama sensei, saying

I will be late. Drop home first then head there.

See you later!

When she arrived at her station, she hurriedly rushes out and run towards their house. Their house was a 20-minute walk away from the station.

"Tadaima!!" she exclaimed when she entered their house.

Minuro went to greet her. "Ah! Ojou, welcome home!"

But Yankumi immediately went to her room.

STOMPED!

STOMPED!

STOMPED!

"Ah! Tetsu! Ready my bath!" Yankumi shouted.

"It's already done, Ojou!" Tetsu replied.

Minuro scratches his head in confusion. He went to ask Tetsu when he was suddenly pushed around.

"Doke!" Yankumi shouted as she rushed towards the bathroom.

"Oww..." Minuro was rubbing his head when he was pulled to the corner by Tetsu.

"Baka!" he said. "What are you doing getting in Ojou's way? Don't you know she was already late for the party?"

"P-party?" Minuro asked.

"You're really stupid, aren't ya?" Tetsu slightly scowled at him. "Her former student's child party. It's gonna be like a reunion because most of her former students probably going. That's why Ojou's in a hurry."

"I see." Minuro nods.

Few minutes later, Yankumi was getting out of their house. She's walking fast in the road while searching for a taxi.

Oh God!

Why is it now?!

No taxi when I badly needed it!

She was startled when a black car suddenly stops in front of her. She was about to get in her fighting stance when the car window rolled down. Her eyes brimmed with surprise.

"Odagiri-kun!?" she said. "What are you doing here?"

"I came to pick you up." Odagiri said while getting out of his car and moving closely to Yankumi. "I called Kuma-san and he said you're still here, so I volunteered to pick you up."

"Oh my, you don't need to do that..." Yankumi was so embarrass.

"But at this time, it's impossible to call for taxi immediately." He said.

He's right.

"Shall we go?" Odagiri said as he opened the car for her.

Left with no choice and really in a hurry, Yankumi accepted his offer. She thought it was better than regretting not able to attend Kuma's party.

While driving on their way to the party, there's an awkward silence between them. Yankumi set her eyes outside the window while Odagiri glances her way once in awhile.

He decided to break the awkwardness. "Yankumi might be wondering why am I going to the party right?"

"Eh?" she uttered.

Odagiri smiled. "Kuma-san and I met by chance last week when he delivered near my place. We talked about other things and just when he's about to leave he gave me an invitation to his child's party."

"Oh, I see." Yankumi smiled. "Well, it's good that my former students are good friends, ne."

Former student, huh...

Odagiri forced his smile.

Up until now,

She's still treating me like her student...

Odagiri sighed.

When will Yankumi finally look at me like a man?

Guess, it's gonna be a long way, huh?

What a tough life!
