I check my phone again, nothing. Not a single reply in two days and I must admit it's killing me. I apologized but it wasn't even completely my fault!

"Carter honey put your phone away at the dinner table." My mom says. "It's impolite." I just did as she said, since it's the first time I've seen them in about two weeks.

"Your mother and I have a gift for you son." my father adds.

"Okay?"

"Well we understand that you're of age to have your own place and we got you just that!" My mom claps excitedly.

"What? Really?" My eyes widen.

"Yes," my Dad says. "Nothing too fancy, just three bed two bath and stuff." he shrugs sliding me a key.

"Just think of it as an early graduation gift. We figured since you decided on tech school for some reason, we'd do this for you. Besides you wouldn't wanna come home to see your father and I walking around naked doing what grown ups do." she winks at my Dad.

"Ew." I roll my eyes. "But you're barely here so."

"We are both taking the rest of this year off. But don't think we're abandoning you son, you're welcome to come visit any time you please. If you let us know before you come of course." he nods.

"This is... wow."

"We aren't getting any younger Carter your mother and I. We just want some privacy and I'm sure you do too. Michelle and Hannah moved out the end of their senior year, and it's your turn."

"Well, okay I guess." I sigh. "Uh excuse me," I push away from the table. "I'm going out."

I needed someone to vent to and I knew my sister Michelle would allow me to do just that.

"You know how many teens would kill for their own place? Paid in full? Mom and Dad made us leave too. Honestly, it was awesome but I ended up pregnant taking advantage of all the freedom that came with it, and here I am. Single Mommy of two." she shrugs.

Pregnant ...

"Michelle can I tell you something?"

"Anything." she shrugs.

"I've been secretly messing around with this girl for about two years... and she's pregnant, and doesn't want to keep the baby." I shake my head looking at my hands.

"Wow why?"

"She's selfish that's why."

"Wait... You want a baby Carter?"

"Yeah, I do actually."

"Wow." she laughs. "You're serious too. A baby is too much responsibility for two eighteen year olds. Take it from me."

"Is it money because-"

"No sir. It's more than that. Way more."

"And you don't think I can handle it?"

"I didn't say that, but it's a struggle, take it from me Carter."

"I just really love her, and if it were up to me, I'd honestly spend the rest of my life with her."
