Ignore the mistakes ~
Taehyung stirred awake, the deep rumble of thunder outside pulling him from his dreams. The storm had grown fiercer, each clap of thunder rolling closer together as if the heavens themselves were at war. He blinked his eyes open, the soft glow from the open balcony casting a faint light into the room. The storm had dragged him from sleep, but it wasn't the only thing that held his attention.
Jungkook was pressed against him, his arm draped protectively around Taehyung's waist. His face was nestled in the crook of Taehyung's neck, his breath slow and steady, a rhythmic warmth against Taehyung's skin. Taehyung's lips curled into a gentle smile as affection blossomed in his chest. Even now, he found it hard to believe that the events of last night were real. That they had finally confessed their feelings after all this time-words that had been pent up, lingering between them, now released and settled into something beautiful.
Taehyung's fingers moved almost on their own, threading through Jungkook's dark hair. He felt the strands slip between his fingers, soft and familiar. Jungkook responded with a quiet hum, his hold tightening briefly before his breathing evened out again. The sight of Jungkook sleeping so peacefully made Taehyung's heart swell with an overwhelming tenderness. His boyfriend. The thought was still surreal. They had crossed that line, stepping into something new and exhilarating.
But as much as Taehyung wanted to stay there, wrapped up in Jungkook's warmth, his throat felt like sandpaper. He swallowed, trying to ease the dryness, but it only made him more aware of how dehydrated he was. He glanced towards the nightstand, where his phone displayed the time: 5:25 AM. It was early, and the world outside was still shrouded in darkness, illuminated only by the occasional flash of lightning.
Taehyung tried to shift carefully, but Jungkook's grip tightened a sleepy, instinctual response. He bit his lip, not wanting to disturb Jungkook's rest, but the dryness in his throat was growing unbearable, "Aish Kookie." With gentle persistence, Taehyung began the delicate task of freeing himself from Jungkook's embrace. It took nearly ten minutes of slow, cautious movements-each one feeling like it might wake the older man.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Taehyung managed to slip out of bed. He watched Jungkook for a moment, feeling a pang of guilt as he noticed his boyfriend stirring, his face scrunching up in discomfort at the loss of warmth. Jungkook mumbled something incoherent, his hand searching for Taehyung even while he was asleep. Taehyung chuckled softly and grabbed his pillow, gently tucking it into Jungkook's arms. Jungkook sighed, hugging the pillow closer, his expression relaxing once more.
Taehyung padded quietly out of the room, whinning a little at the sourness he felt from earlier activities but he was careful not to make too much noise as he descended the stairs. The house was eerily quiet, save for the storm outside. He made his way to the kitchen, flipping on a small light to keep from stumbling in the dark. The refrigerator hummed softly as he opened it, the cool air brushing against his skin. He grabbed a water bottle, the first sip was a relief, the cool water soothing his dry throat.
As he finished the bottle, Taehyung considered bringing some water upstairs. Jungkook would likely wake up soon, and he didn't want to leave him thirsty. He retrieved a jug from one of the cabins, filling it with water as the storm continued to rage outside. The rain lashed against the windows, the wind howling as it swept through the trees.
He was nearly done when he felt it-a pair of strong arms wrapping around his waist, pulling him back into a familiar embrace. Taehyung didn't flinch, a soft smile tugging at his lips. He leaned back into the warmth, his heart skipping a beat as Jungkook's scent filled his senses.
"Why did you leave?" Jungkook's voice was husky with sleep, his lips brushing against Taehyung's neck in a tender kiss.
Taehyung tilted his head slightly, giving Jungkook better access to his neck. "I was thirsty," he replied softly, his voice barely above a whisper, not wanting to disturb the calm of the early morning.
