Roses are red,
But violets aren't blue.
If one were to die,
I think it'd be you.

Like an illness with no cure, a broken heart could never mend.

That I knew for sure.

"Qibli!" I shouted, dropping the plastic bag in my hands and stumbling back toward the tracks. "Come on, get your foot out!"

"Damn—I can't," he cursed, yanking harder. The tracks rumbled and vibrated, and the horns from afar blared repeatedly as smoke was emitted from it. "It's in there deep. Pulling is useless. Maybe I can—!" He tried to pry his foot out with his bare hands but only retaliated in pain.

I quickly dropped to my knees and grabbed Qibli's calf, digging my nails into it in an attempt to tear it out myself if I had to. My heart was pounding in my chest as sound was suddenly muffled by my fear. I can't lose him, my mind repeatedly chanted as if it'd be enough to ward away bad luck. Please, no. Not this. Not now.

"Moon!" Qibli's voice was fierce and commanding, making me pause in my attempts. "Get back or you'll get hit, too!" He dug around in his pockets for his keys and tossed them to the ground behind me. "Get to the place with Swordtail and Luna! Tell them I said that—"

"Stop!" I screamed at him, my vision already blurry. I couldn't even help him much if I wanted to since one of my arms was in a cast, therefore deeming me useless. I whipped around and dug around in the plastic bag for any sort of liquid that might be slippery enough to—

Another blare of horns knocked me out of my thinking process. The tracks were now rumbling more vigorously as the train finally came into view. Ten seconds was the most Qibli had before... before—

"Moon, go!" Qibli pushed me with half his strength, sending me staggering backward and landing on the grassy ground behind me. "Move it! Remember what we talked about! Put our children first and get out of here!"

It was clear he didn't get it. I couldn't live without him. I couldn't raise our kids without him. So then... I'd die with him.

I scrambled to my feet and lunged at him as the train rushed at us at full speed. I latched onto him in a hug as I sobbed into his shoulder, prepared for our shared fate.

"Moon, what are you—!" Qibli was in a panicked state—in a frenzy—but quickly realized that even if he were to try and push me away again, I wouldn't make it out of harm's way in time anyway. So he conceded and tightened his grip around me, burying his face into my shoulder.

And then, so suddenly that it knocked the breath out of me, someone slammed into the both of us, tearing Qibli's leg out and sending us flying onto the other side of the tracks.

The train flew by as its horn blared once more.

The person who collided with us sent all three of us rolling in different directions. As I crashed into the soil, rolling and subconsciously trying to protect my stomach at the same time, my movement finally stopped with me on my back and staring up at the night sky.

I coughed, my vision still blurry with tears as a singular star twinkled back at me. The train continued to rush past, each shipping container flashing past as metal scraped against metal.

Qibli! I sat up abruptly, but then my head exploded with a migraine and I nearly passed out. I turned my head and saw him lying beside me, and on his other side sat a groaning Cyclone.

"Wow, that was close," Cyclone moaned, rubbing his head. The bindings were off and so was the blindfold. "Hey, you two okay? What about your stomach and arm, Moon? I tried to look out for them but I didn't really have much time to think. And your foot, Qibli?"
