As soon as Queen Myeongseong entered the chamber of the royal couple, her eyes fell on King Chaewon who was lighting up the flambeaux. She smiled and sat on the bed to fold some of her robes.
"How's Y/N now?" Chaewon asked. "The effect of the poison has reduced to a good extent, she's expected to wake up by tomorrow morning. Jiyeon and Yuna are there to look after her for the night."
Myeongseong replied while looking at her husband who nodded. "I'll see her tomorrow." The king uttered.
Myeongseong hums before looking out of the window, the night sky looking darker than usual with the clouds. "I wanted to see Prince Taehyung to show my gratitude. I heard it's him who brought her back."
The queen's words made Chaewon pause his work briefly before he continued. "I met him already. It was our Y/N's luck that prince Taehyung found her in the woods otherwise...." The king took a pause, and Myeongseong glanced at him. "I have to talk to Jiyeon and Prince Jimin, they should not have hid this matter from us."
Chaewon spoke and Myeongseong sighed. "Your majesty, it doesn't matter now, Our Y/N came back safely, didn't she?"
"No Myeongseong, the situation might have been completely opposite. I've to talk to all of them so such a grave situation does not arise in future." Chaewon sounded determined and serious so Myeongseong didn't pester him much. She stood up from bed to walk up to her husband who was standing near the flambeaux by the window now.
The royal couple gaze out at their city, taking in the night view, the wind so coldly brushing past them. There was a peaceful silence between them before the Queen decided to break it.
"Are you wondering the same as me?" She murmurs with a tiny smile. "Depends on what you're wondering?" Chaewon asked gently, his voice so calm.
The queen chuckled. "About our
Y/N and..... Prince Taehyung."Myeongseong's voice came out as a calm whisper, she glanced at Chaewon to see his expressions which were calm as well.
"I don't know if i should think about it, or we should even talk about it but... since the very beginning when Prince Taehyung came and I saw our Y/N and Taehyung together occasionally, they looked so good together. I couldn't pinpoint how I felt but today knowing that Taehyung saved her, it feels like fuel to what I was feeling for them. There's just something between them."
Myeongseong gazes out at the sky while sharing her thoughts with her husband who listens quietly. "I cannot help but wish For our Y/N to get a protective and powerful husband like Prince Kim Taehyung." She whispers the last words as if she hesitates to get the right reaction out of the King.
But looking at Chaewon carefully, she could tell he was thinking the same somewhere inside him.
"Perhaps I should tell you something. Even before I met Prince Taehyung, I had considered him to be the right husband for our Y/N. He's one of the most powerful warriors I've known, someone who's born to write history. Meeting him just told me more about his personality and in my eyes no one else can be perfect to hold our Y/N's hand for a lifetime."
Listening to Chaewon's words, something fills the Queen's heart with pure joy, she has a toothy grin when she looks at her husband. Her warm palm came up to hold Chaewon's arm.
But before she could speak her thoughts, Chaewon interrupted her as if he knew what she would say.
"I know what you want me to do but My dear Queen.." Chaewon looks down at his wife, his queen, his eyes soft. "We don't know if Gwanjong and Queen Cheorin also want to convert our friendship into family relations."
