25. Acceptance

"I accept this marriage."

The words left the princess's pink lips, her eyes casted down, not meeting her parents' out of shyness and wanting to hide her blushing rosy cheeks. Her heart thuds speaking those words out in the air. Her fingers clenched together on her front as her chest vibrated.

King Chaewon and Queen Myeongseong's faces split into wider toothy smiles. Somewhere a weight lifted off their chests. The royal couple shared glances at each other and Myeongseong was the first to go forward and hug her daughter warmly. "Oh My Y/N." She cups the Princess's back of the head affectionately.

Is it even necessary to mention Y/N's smile wasn't ready to leave her face? She hugs her mother back. "Are you really happy accepting it?" Myeongseong asked, smiling. Now who will tell her, her daughter is more than just happy accepting this marriage with someone she loved for ages! She might be the happiest soul right now on earth.

Y/N composed herself before her parents, though her toes were twitching in her shoes. She nodded at her mother warmly, her eyes speaking her heart's language.

Suddenly there was a squeal as Jiyeon rushed to her cousin before tackling her in a fierce hug. Y/N stumbled back but hugged Jiyeon. "I knew it I knew it, how can you refuse Ki-" Y/N squeezed Jiyeon's waist just enough to alarm her before she could speak the Princess's secrets out to her parents. Jiyeon giggled "How Can you refuse such a good marriage proposal, my dear cousin? I'm so happy you accepted it."

Jiyeon pulled away, squeezing Y/N's shoulders before she ran outside screaming that the royal Princess had said yes to the marriage.

Myeongseong shook her head ,chuckling.

Chaewon walked closer to Y/N before placing his hand against her head, caressing it. Although he has gotten assurance from his daughter's side, It remains unanswered from Taehyung's. He doesn't know what Prince Taehyung thinks about this marriage. Gwanjong hadn't told him in detail, 'Taehyung needs some time Chae, but don't worry, he'll say yes eventually.'

Somehow those assuring words weren't enough to Soothe his concern. What if Prince Taehyung refuses?

That haunts both the kings.

Jimin and Yeonjun were walking through the royal corridors when they heard some maids loudly talking and giggling around the corner, "Our royal princess has said Yes to the marriage proposal from Raventhore.", "She'll marry Prince Taehyung." , "Don't they look like a match made in heaven?"

The talks continued with giggles with different voices.

Jimin and Yeonjun's eyes grew wide in surprise, their lips tucking up in amused toothy grins. "Hyung!! Did you hear that?" Yeonjun looked like a child being overly excited. The supposed wife of his elder brother has accepted the marriage proposal, why wouldn't he feel on cloud nine himself?

Jimin grinned too, somewhere he already knew Princess Y/N would not refuse, he had those gut feelings. When he heard both the families have mutually fixed the marriage, Jimin was the happiest for his best friend until he approached Taehyung only to find him closed off from everybody.

Taehyung hasn't shared a single word with him or Yeonjun. Not that Taehyung doesn't always stay silent but his current silence speaks volume for the lingering refusal.

The hushed voices of the maids attracted their attention away again. "Has Prince Taehyung not said Yes yet?", "I too haven't heard good news from their side.", "Who would refuse our Princess? She's the most beautiful woman anyone must have ever seen." , "What if his highness refuses to marry her?" There were gasps erupting in unison. "That would be such a scar to Princess, don't you think? Now after she has said yes, if Prince refuses, questions will be raised on her."
