"Chaewon.."
King Chaewon's train of thoughts broke down and he turned his head. A look of surprise on his face after seeing King Gwanjong was evident. Chaewon stood up. "Gwan.."
King Gwanjong stepped closer. "What has occupied your thoughts so much that you didn't realize my presence?"
Chaewon looked away, chuckling aside the tension in him. "Nothing my friend, come have a seat." He gestured to Gwanjong to take a seat beside him on the balcony. The cold wind brushed against them as they settled.
"I thought you went to rest." Chaewon questioned. "How could I rest knowing that my dearest friend is bothered and worried about something? Something that is keeping you awake." Gwanjong questioned back.
Chaewon looked away, gazing at the darkness, the royal Alpha's words rushing to his mind. A few frown lines formed on his forehead making Gwanjong sighed.
"Chaewon..We have fought battles together. Our friendship is not of today or yesterday, we've threaded it through years. I can know exactly when you're worried, one worried line on your forehead can tell me everything. Now open up fast before I take out my sword!!"
Gwanjong threatened lightly, smiling but his smile turned down watching Chaewon not smiling back. A symbol of true friendship is, when the physical distance doesn't shatter the closeness of hearts even a bit. Gwanjong and Chaewon have huge responsibilities of their kingdoms, they don't get to hear about each other for months or even years but when they meet, they meet as if it was just yesterday that they met last time.
They've threaded their friendship with trust and faith in each other.
Gwanjong frowned, sensing the seriousness of the matter. He scooted his chair close to Chaewon's. He wasn't there like a king right now but as a true friend only.
"I had seen Alpha Hyejin coming to talk to you and since then you're lost." Gwanjong ignored the bitterness he felt on his tongue taking Alpha's name. "I swear Chaewon if he said something to you." Gwanjong frowned at that.
Chaewon stayed silent for a moment before looking straight into the eyes of Gwanjong. "They want my Y/N." He uttered with a blank yet straight face.
Gwanjong frowned deeply. "Who? What are you talking about Chae?"
King Chaewon gazed away. "Alpha Hyejin came to me today's evening and put a proposal of marriage for my daughter with his son." Chaewon couldn't ignore the way Shock spread on Gwanjong's face. He saw how his friend's lips twitched to curse in most worst ways.
"He wants a death wish or what?" Gwanjong had a scowl on his face. His lips leaving out a series of curses. Chaewon looked away with the same frown. "And what did you say? Don't tell me you didn't reject him right on his face?"
"I couldn't Gwan." The king looked back at his friend. "I never expected him to put such a proposal to me. Marriage proposal for my Y/N?" Chaewon gazed away frowning deep.
Gwanjong cursed under his breath. "How did he even come up with that proposal? He hates us too much to even think about that!!!" He reasoned. "You should talk to him again and reject them wholly."
"Gwan ,I went to the royal Alpha after dinner." Chaewon meets Gwanjong's eyes. "I clearly told him, I cannot accept this proposal but he gave me more time to think. And the way he said it, it looked like they wouldn't accept anything except acceptance of their proposal."
